Sophia is sick :( 1 Attachment(s) She started itching again on her food, so we decided to change flavors on Saturday (slowly, of course). Around 1, she barked to go outside. She NEVER goes in the middle of the night unless she's sick. Sure enough, bad diarrhea :(. She woke us up every hour after that. She's really not feeling well.. I feel so bad for her :(. Please keep her in your thoughts. |
I hope she's feeling better soon... I believe I've read in your posts that you've tried a few different brands with her?... I'm wondering if she's sensitive to the additives used in the foods, as oppossed to being allergic to any specific grain or protein. One way to tell is if she's sensitive to chicken based dog food, but she has no problem with home cooked chicken? Sometimes with mine I put them on a chicken and white rice diet for a week, till their tummies calm down. A tsp of plain pumpkin can firm things up, and help prevent fluid loss/ dehydration. Is she still having diarrhea? Is she eating and drinking normally? |

Poor baby:( I hope she is feeling better soon. It is awful trying to find food that your baby will eat and that will agree with sensitive tummies and allergies. It took me two years. I will pray that Sophia gets over this quickly. How is Brody? I hope they don't have that bug again:( |

Poor Sophia. What food do you have her on now? It seems like a lot of YTers have problems finding the 'right' food for their pups. I guess we have been lucky... The worst reaction was gunky eyes to the Blue Wilderness. I hope she starts feeling better soon... |

Have you tried her on any of the Limited Ingredient Diets? And just to mention, most of the better brands of dog food will give you a refund if your dog can't eat their food... |

Home cooking may be a good thing to consider if Sophia continues to have problems. Rhonda, BabyGirl Rosie, feeds Rosie home cooked food with an additive to balance it nutritionally. I think her recipes are non-chicken too. The homecooking solved Rosie's bowel problems. I don't recall if Rosie had any outward signs of allergies, skin issues. |

I'm going to go ahead and pick up another bag of what she was previously on, since we're running low (and return the new stuff). Then that'll buy me some more time to figure out what I wanna do next. |
I'm sorry your baby isn't feeling well. We had several digestive issues with Rylee Belle and finally found out she needed to be on "grain free" kibble. She is on NOW (small breed) grain free and she does very well on it. It's nice and small so it's easy for them to eat. When she does have an attack of Diarrhea, the boiled chicken always seems to do the trick. She doesn't seem to do well with the rice either......some times it causes her to throw up. I think she just doesn't chew enough. Anyway, the boiled chicken on it's own works for her. Keep us updated............... |
