| Some dogs just can't eat treats or anything extra. My Jilly was a dog like that & anytime I tried to introduce her to anything different or special, she got very ill with vomiting/running, bloody diarrhea. I soon learned not to be so dumb or silly or whatever the appropriate word is as to keep trying her on treats that regular dogs can eat as she kept getting sick from them. Yours may just be having a temporary upset not related to her regular food or treats but it could be and if she keeps having it once you resume treating, withdraw the treats and make your own out of her own kibble or something and see if that will hold her. Jilly had homemade treats from her kibble all her life since every single regular treat she got, right up to age 12, made her sick! I just soaked kibble, microwaved, baked or broiled it, dried it and broke it into pieces & she just loved it. She would do anything to get one of her treats as if they were real meat or something! Hope your baby is going to be fine really soon!!!

| Good news about Bella. Sorry to hear about the chemo treatment - I didn't know. I'll be praying for you and for little Bella. Check in with us for both of you if you don't mind when you can and take good care of yourself in addition to Bella. Hugs and hope!

| Just want to clarify: I don't have cancer I have Lupus and Sjogren's. The treatments kill off my immune system so my body stops attacking itself. This month I get one on the 4th and the 18th. They take about 8 hrs. and it does really help.

| I've had patients at work and friends who have had chemo for things other than cancer but it's still awfully hard on them. I didn't know you were ill until I read your post. I sure hope you are finished with your chemo soon.

| I'm sorry you are having these health problems. I'm sure you little fur baby helps to cheer you up despite what you are going through. When Gracie was young she could not tolerate treats either. Of course now we find that many of the treats available in stores are not good for them anyway. There are some all natural American made treats that are simply dried meat (not to be confused with the jerky treats) available. You won't find them in most stores but if you look online there are several all natural dog food vendors that sell them. Gracie does get treats now but they are one ingredient treats so I don't have to be concerned about multiple ingredients that may give her problems. Here is a link that is an example of what I am talking about: Hope you and your fur baby are both feeling better soon. |
