| Help! Weird big bald black patch on skin I just found this weird black patch on Bambi's thigh yesterday. It's about 3 inches in diameter and there's no itching or smell. What could this be? |

| This is one thing I found: My Dog Has Dark Skin Patches -- What Is It?: : Pet Health But based on the google search, it could be any number of things. For some reason, I want to ask if your Bambi is older. I vaguely remember my Charlie's skin darkening in spots too (though didn't lose hair). Has she ever had allergies? That was my initial thought. Sounds like may need a visit to the vet... Good luck.

| That is a very large spot, I would be having the vet take a look at it. |

| It could be nothing, but I'd have your vet take a look at it just in case...

| My fur baby Zoey had a dark spot in the same spot your baby's black spot is a few months ago. Zoey had loss hair in the area and I had no idea how she had gotten it. We took her to the vet and the vet had made the assumption that Zoey may have burned herself somehow and we were given cream to help aide her skin recover (the black spot looked as if it were a scab & was already flaking off during the vet visit). To this day, the hair hasn't grown back I hope you were able to take your baby to the vet to get it checked up! |

| any update on this? did you have your vet check this spot out? as you have already been advised, i would most definitely want a vet to check that out asap. it could be any number of things.... such as allergies, yeast infection, bacterial infection.... how old is bambi? older dogs with skin problems could be a sign of more serious things. when my girl zowi got a black spot that looked like that it turned out to be a yeast infection on her skin that was cleared up with antifungal medication and a cleaning solution that was applied directly to the affected area. hope bambi is okay and you already have this resolved.
