The YT rules are very clear on this, as they have been for years; so yes, it did appear as if you did intend to debate Admin's rules as you said "You all need to reevaluate the policies here" in your first post. If that wasn't part of your intention, then I'm not clear on what was meant by that sentence.

On the bolded part - I have no idea where you gathered that someone complained about "the way in which the help was given" -- that isn't indicated anywhere. The complaints were not about that. The complaints are about the public discussions of monetary support from YT members.

For those who've been here a long time, we all remember VERY well about the person who rescued a dog, a huge number of YT members jumped to help her, she ended up with all of this money -- and in the end, ended up w/ federal and state charges because of it. YT will continue to try to protect our members from that ever happening again. It was a terrible situation all the way around.

For those who posted on this thread wanting to support - all of you are welcome to, that's not the issue. As stated previously, the issue is that you need to do this privately. Not via the public forum.

The members here are just the very very best. There are a few whose opinions and knowledge I find extremely valuable and Ladyjane is one of them Thank you, Linda, for helping this young lady find a vet that's willing to work with her, AND that's qualified to do this type of surgery. Thank goodness, whew!

I apologize if I broke a rule, but since I have seen other cases like this and since I have also offered money to people publically before, I have to say I did not do it intentionally. I cannot find that rule, but then maybe I am just not reading the rules well. Again, I am sorry if there was a rule broken and I reiterate that it was unintentional. I merely wanted to help this owner and her puppy and wanted to be absolutely sure that she knew help was out there. She was a bit slow in answering PMs.

Matters not now....I won't do it again.

All I want to say is that you, Alisha, are an awesome pet owner. You really stepped up to the plate for Bella and she is lucky to have such a wonderful mom! I deal with people on a daily basis who won't do half of what you have done. I know what a sacrifice this is for you. I am sure your Bella will be fine and you will have many wonderful years with her! I am glad that you are on YT...I have looked at your previous posts and I can see how much you love your girl. You are a YT asset! Your lessons learned in this will be helpful to someone else in the future!

Wonderful news! I'm thrilled Bella is having surgery tonight. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Again mucho thanks to Ladyjane..you are one of the best!

Ann, I have to admit it has been a long time since I have looked at the rules, so just went back and read things. Good reminders, especially about the part of someone soliciting. (Not that anyone was soliciting on this thread and how awful about the situation you described from the past.) But, I could not find the part about offering monetary help. Is it in another area? Yes, there was no soliciting whatsoever on this thread by Alisha, that's never been the issue. However, financial support of anything here at YT - whether for a dog, a member whose dog has passed away, a member whose spouse has died - you name it - it's always been behind the scenes. If there are cases where it hasn't been behind the scenes - it's probably either a mistake, or been approved by Admin beforehand.

I'll close this since it's continuing to go off topic, and I can't really clarify it further. Alisha, please start a new thread when you have updates .
