| ![]() Charlie threw up his breakfast yesterday morning and I thought he had just been a bit too active straight after his breakfast. But since then he has been rather quiet, not wanted his food or even his treats. He seems to be having difficulty passing stools, stopping and straining but only a little very liquid poo coming out. (Sorry to be so graphic). I think he may be constipated but here in the UK we can't buy pumpkin. We have tried feeding him some apple but he won't touch it. He just wants to lie on my knee and is shaking a little. I think we will need to take him to the vets tomorrow when they are open - any advice in the meantime? | ![]() Is he drinking? I know I mentioned the pumpkin in the previous thread but being hydrated is very important. Also, shaking could be pain or it could mean fever. Or low blood sugar. Did he just start the shaking? Do you have an emergency vet in the UK? I am afraid your baby needs to be seen by a vet. Please keep us posted.

| ![]() If this were my little one, I'd be off to the Emergency vet. No appetite and no stool could mean an obstruction of some sort, and that can cause so much damage to their intestines if left untreated. I hope your baby will be okay!!!! Sending prayers up ![]()

| ![]() The vet took his temperature and was surprised how high it is - nearly 104. He thinks he's maybe managed to get food poisioning and has given him an anti-biotic injection and tablets to bring him. He wants us to take him back in the morning to see how he's getting on. |

| ![]() He seems a bit better this morning, hes eaten the special food we got from the vet yesterday and seems a bit happier and perkier, taking him to vet in 3 hours so hoping his temperature will be back to normal then. Not sure how his tummy is, he's not had any accidents in the house since yesterday. |

| ![]() The vet says his temp is still a bit high at 103 but he's a lot perkier. He's given him some more anti-biotics and says he should be back to normal in a couple of days - thank goodness for that! |

| ![]() How is Charlie doing today? 103 is still a pretty high temp. Did your vet give you any other instructions or a time to return for a recheck?

| ![]() Charlie is much better today thanks, he even managed to roll in some mud on his walk so he must be feeling better! The vet didn't say he needed to see him again but obviously if he does not return totally to his usual self I will take him back. Vet said he thought it was food poisening from something he must have picked up on his walk which led to colitus. Poor baby! I am so pleased he's back to his little self (except for the rolling in the mud) |
