| Blue Born Mack... somethings wrong yet again Mack started "gagging", "choking", "coughing"...I really don't know how to describe the sounds about 2 am this morning. He woke me up with the strangling sounds and I thought he was choking. He has been making these gagging sounds off and on all night and today and asks like he is trying to get something up. Its not the normal reverse sneezing sound. I have scheduled him an appointment this afternoon, but everyone knows how much I HATE taking him into the vet due to his low immune system. Please send a prayer.....

| Praying for Mack.... were you able to check his mouth for any hair? Mine occassionally get a long strand or two hooked on a tooth and the rest is down the throat! Then they hack like they're trying to cough something up....

| Hacking Cough I have had mine get a piece of fuzz from a toy in their throat and hack and cough trying to get it up for quite a while. Just never know and I am sure with Mack you want to be very careful.

| Sending prayers for Mack. Maximo had a similar episode that sent us flying to the ER. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...x-gagging.html We still don't know if he swallowed something that irritated his throat (he didn't have access to anything that we know of), or if he had a doggy cold. The choking came on suddenly in the afternoon. It took about 2 weeks and a steroid for him to fully recover.

| Karen, AllDogBoots, had a similar experience with Cooper and it was a throat infection: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/3860221-post10.html

| Kendra I'm sorry Mack gave you a little scare! I hope it was a one time event and that he is just fine. BTW, a couple of mine hack at this time of the year with all the pollens in the air!
