| Poor Zoey needs surgery... So yesterday morning around 11:00, I hear the worst sound any of us can ever hear... My baby Zoey screaming in pain. I ran into the living room where she was and see her sitting on the floor with her front paw up not putting any weight on it. I called my vet's office and they stated they could see her at 2:00 when the doctor returned to the office. I took her in and her leg was pretty badly broken. She needs to have a $1900 surgery either tomorrow or Friday of this week to repair the leg. I am a wreck right now. Zoey seems to be doing ok. She's a strong little girl. She didn't even cry at the vet's office when he pushed the bone straight to temporarily splint it. I think she's enjoying all the special attention she's getting right now. Doc said it is going to be a long road to recovery. After surgery, she will need to go in weekly to have the bandage changed and xrays to ensure the bone is healing correctly for the next 8 weeks. I'm not going to be sleeping much for the next 8 weeks. Zoey on the other hand is soaking up as much lap time as she can get! (Sorry about the blurry photo/bad hair day - I don't look any better!)

| Oh no poor Zoey. Prayers for her surgery and fast road to recovery. Do you know how she broke it? Did she jump off something? This alwasy scares me, no matter what size they are.

| I'm not sure how she broke it. I was on the opposite side of the house when it happened. The vet said it almost looks like she got it caught on something, but I'm thinking she may have jumped off the couch or something and landed wrong because there was nothing around for her to catch it on so it's a mystery .

| Thanks! The vet picked it out. He said she deserved purple because she's a little princess and royalty wears purple... He's a smart guy!

| oh poor Zoey. I hope all goes well with the surgery and she is on the mend soon. Gosh this scares me so much. Our furniture is pretty low but I still don't like Ziggy jumping off it. But he just wont listen and does it all the time. Arg, I am going to try and find a way to stop him, this seems like a very stressful and expensive thing to go through
