white stool!? HELP! my mother in law found a yorkie on the streets saturday afternoon. she took her in, gave her a shower, fed her and just yesterday gave her to me. I noticed she was acting a bit depressed. none the less, we went to petsmart, bought her food, bowls, worming stuff, shampoo, etc. when i brought her home, i took her outside to do "her business" and i noticed her stool was white and "mucusy." when I took her back inside, she was acting normal. in the middle of the night, she "did her business" again and same result. today, just a few moments ago, same thing happened, only this time, she is not all happy and barking. she just lays there. she does not want to eat and throws up the little bit of water she drinks. i can't worm her, because she won't eat. what could it be? |
I am not a vet...so I wouldn't guess at what it could be. Bring the dog to the vet to get checked out. Also I would post signs, someone may be looking for this yorkie. |
This little baby could be lost and could need medication. I would definitely post signs and immediately take her to the vet. You could make her sicker by trying to worm her if you don't know what is causing her to be sick. |
from what I know, white stool is caused from eating bones...it could be that she ate out of the garbage or ground since she was lost. was she taken in to the vet to check if she's microchipped, maybe the owner is looking for her? she also needs to be checked by a vet |

Oh my goodness, you should be trying to help this baby get back to her home. As someone else observed, she may have eaten scraps while lost hence the resulting white stools. Saying prayers for this little girl to get better soon. |
Bella had white stool one time and it was after I had given her one of her tartar buster bones. I had let her have it a little too long and she got down into the marrow. It was only for one day and other than pooping white she was ok. I would definitely take this little one to the vet. If she is throwing up and lethargic there could be something more seriously wrong with her. Better to be safe than sorry. Like someone had said before maybe she is microchipped and she could be reunited with her owner. She could have gotten out on someone and they could be looking for her. Keep us posted |
This yorkie first should have been taken to the vet as soon as possible and should be taken now something is obviously wrong with her. Then you need to try to find her owner she could be from a family that really loves her and misses her. |
White stool are also indicitive of liver disease................. |
She may have been abandoned due to an illness, possibly liver as someone said. Take her to a vet, or if you can't afford one then to a no-kill shelter. I think shelters will look for the owner and then it the dog goes up for adoption they call the person who found them first? Not sure if that is true. If you can't afford THIS most important vet visit, then you can't afford a yorkie, period. Also, I'm sure all of us hope that, even though you didn't say it, that you are trying hard to find the owner. It's the right thing to do. |
the day my mother in law found her, she asked around in the neighborhood where she found her and no-one claimed her. she took her in to shower her and feed her, but passed her on to me so i can do the same. Due to all the information I had read online saying, "diarrhea could be caused by stress in moving and change in diet etc." i thought to see if it would pass within a day, but no luck. If possible she will get a visit to the vet today. |
I honestly do believe, she was abandoned, but we'll see. |
White stool could be from eating bones or she could have something wrong with her. Since you dont have a medical history on her you need to take her to the vet. Also you need to do more to find her owner like put flyers out and check with the humaine society and or animal control and see if anyone has reported her missing. She is someones dog and Im sure they are heart broken missing her |

You will be surprised how many distance a little pup can travel! I found a Chi that seemed lost, but was wearing a tag. It was a very hot day & she was heading toward a major street w/lots of cars. I calmy got her & I called the # on her tag. Her owner didn't have a car, so he asked if I can drop her off. She lived almost 2 miles away! Maybe you can post flyers around the neighborhood, in grocery stores, vet hospitals, pet stores... |
