My furkids Donating Member | Bentley I have a question to all of you who have had a pup/dog with liver shunt. Since this is what they are testing my little Bentley for I have been doing a lot of reading up on it. Although he does have SOME of the symptoms, he also had symptoms of seizures. my question.......I had read( and told by the breeder) that he would have a seizure shortly after eating,.....this isn't happening....he is eating fine,,...,no diarrhea, vomiting, he is certainly NOT lethargic... and yes he is thin but, all the her puppies in his litter are thin,....being thin doesn't mean there is a problem. He isn't a big boy...very fine boned...Could somebody PLEASE give me some input on this as I am beside myself right now....for those of you who haven't read my former thread...yes he saw a vet yesterday and they did blood work...I will be getting the results some time today.. thank you

| First, let me say I have your Bentley in my prayers (I have a Yorkie named Bentley too) I had a German Shepherd who developed seizures later in life like around 13 years old. Mia's were grand mal seizures. I know you are so very worried but try not to get ahead of the vet's diagnosis. The blood work will give more insight into what is going on. Please let us know when you get the results back...sending positive thoughts and hugs your way. Dyan |

| It does not sound like Liver Shunt to me.... more like a concussion like you said. Or an ear infection can also cause dizziness and a head tilt....

| It does not sound like liver shunt to me. It also does not sound like seizures to me but there are so many types. It does sound neurological to me, and after getting normal blood work today, I would schedule an appointment with Dr. Sisson as AAMC. I don't like the sideways walking, the yelp, or the back legs giving out. I'd be moving on from my regular vet TODAY if the blood work is normal.

| I posted this on your other thread: Just throwing this out there because I like you looked up liver shunts, seizures you name it and it wasn't until we went to Neurologist that we were told Georgie had Altanto-axial luxation (I have attached info below) The reason people probably see me post this on every thread with similar symptoms is because we spent 2 months and way to much money at the Vet who had no clue what was going on. I would ask for an x-ray right away. Georgie and I are praying for you and Bentley. Dog Orthopedic: The Spine Center at VOSM

Dr. Sisson is a board certified neurologist at the Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. Here is their website www.mspca.org Good luck, maybe you will hear soon. I'd call again.

| I'm wondering if it couldn't be a slipped disc pinching a couple of nerves. Hope they do x-rays.
