2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | It is possible that skunks and other wild animals can carry the "Leptospirosis" disease. Has your pup been vaccinated against it? Leptospirosis - This is a bacterial disease transmitted through urine and feces of infected animals. It infects the kidneys and causes weakness, vomiting, high fever and loss of appetite. The vaccine does not cover all strains of Lepto. Early treatment with antibiotics or a combination of antibiotics usually results in good prognosis. Lepto is transmissible to humans! | Mine in wildlife poos several times a month. Occasionally the will have loose poops themselves for the next few day- Nothing serious. Note I do not deliberately allow them to but with 5 dogs you can't be everywhere at once. Also long as he is UTD with vaccines he should be fine. If he appears to be ill I would follow up with your vet.

Check with your family vet to see what his recommendations for the vaccination are. UTD is short for up to date.
