|  Barney is home! Barney is home for tonight...he will go back to the hospital tomorrow morning for another day of IV fluids. I found out that Barney had diarrhea that bloodied while there. Now there are more diagnostic possibilities on the table. My vet ran an in house glucose test which was normal. My vet ordered a fecal, chemistry, complete blood count and the spec cpl test. So we will know for sure whether this is pancreatitis tomorrow. They want me to feed him a small amount of food tonight but I am ignoring that advice for now. I'll feed him two tablespoons in the morning. Meanwhile, he came home with two antibiotics and will be continued on Pepcid. The catheter is bugging him so he's wearing his Kiss E Collar that Mom to Hot Rod made for him. He stinks even after I washed his bum  But he is in decent spirits and is resting comfortably. I just don't think I'm convinced that this is pancreatitis...

| Your dr will find out what it is. I don't remember them getting bloody stools with pancreatitis. I'll keep your lil guy in my thoughts tonight.

| sending prayers for your dear barney to recovery quickly and to confirm what is going on... i have personally been through pancreatitis a few times with 2 different pups and it is very scary, so i understand how worried you are right now. one did have bloody stools with both bouts and the other did not with her one bout. if the bloody stools continue or he is not allowed any food at night time, if he was my pup, i would have him stay overnight at a 24 hour care facility after your regular vet closes so he can be closely watched for hypoglycemia. truly hoping that barney had a good night and will improve today and be all better!!! hugs to you and barney!!!

| Update on Barney Barney came home from the hospital last and rested comfortably. This morning, my Barney was much improved! He was wagging his tail, running around, etc. I dropped him off for Day 2 of his IV fluids and observation. Only his fecal test came back and it was negative for parasites. His other testing is still pending but we should at least have some results today.
