| yorkie skin issue First let me say I am taking him to the vet, they are closed today. My yorkie has some redness, scaby, dandruffy (okay did I just make that word up?!?!), something going on on his abdomen/underside. It has beenn there for a while, but I have not taken him to the vet because it sometimes appears to be "dry out" and disappear. I googgled dog skin conditions and I am guessing maybe folliculitis?? I dont know however I dont think it is mange or yeast. I was thinking of just putting some neosporin or anti bacterial ointment on him until we get him to the vet this week. He does not scratch it, but I have stopped him from licking it a few times. Any ideas or suggestions. I know if I put any cream on I cant let him lick it off. Not sure what it could it be?? Should I just take him to the vet or the vet dermatologist (I didnt know they had a dermatologist for dogs! However it makes sense). He doesnt have any other symptoms. He's playing and eating like normal. Thanks!

| Vitamine E oil(edible) works great for irritated skin and dandruff... however, like anything, you have to be consistent with it.

| I wouldn't put neosporin on it unless you put an E-collar on your pup to prevent licking. Instead, use pure organic coconut oil. I like Nutiva from the Vitamin Shoppe because it doesn't contain any preservatives or unwanted additives and thus works better. It's safe if your pup licks it. Get in to see the vet to make sure the spots aren't anything serious.
