| tumor info? Does anyone know or have a thread listing that talks about tumors here? My little one has a tumor and it doesnt look good according to her vet. I have weird feelings about the whole thing though. I did not get a second opinion because it did look obvious in the xray but her symptoms stopped and now I am not sure. |

| If you were more specific about the location of the tumor, I'll bet some people will be on tonight that may have information or would be able to direct you to where to find what you are looking for. Sorry about your doggie.

| She has a tumor in her stomach. Its quite large. Dont know how long its been there. I have had her almost 2 yrs and my dad and step mom had her for almost a year before that but when step mom died she came to live with me. Her original owner wasn't very attentive to her and she stayed kenneled all day then outside after that. When she got to me she was in need of alot of attention and work. She is 10 yo in Dec. I have managed to potty train her and gain her trust in knowing I wont leave her. A couple of weeks ago she threw up her food two days in a row. I took her to the vet and the xray showed a mass in her belly. She said there was no alternative but surgery and no quarentee. I wanted to wait as my husband is not the animal lover that I am and I knew he would not spend that much on another dog... especially one he didnt want around in the first place. So we waited a week and redid the xray and there is still something there. I have started giving her small amounts of food throughout the day so it has time to get in her system and not overwelming her tummy and she hasnt thrown up again. She doesnt act sick and it has not slowed her down a bit. The doc said she might have a month to live but I dont see how she could say that since there is no way to determin how long its been there. I am sorry if this is long winded. Just trying to get all the facts in here. Thanks for listening. |

| It means to bump your thread back to the top of the list again so it doesn't get lost.

| Is there another vet close by so that you could get a second opinion? I wouldn't even mention that I had previously been to another vet right away. Did he give you any specific info about the tumor? Was it definately a tumor and not some kind of blockage? Please post an update when you find something out. I hope it turns out to be something very simple and cureable.
