Donating YT 500 Club Member | Taycie back at vet. GI troubles running some tests. Last night I woke up to Taycie standing on me shaking and begging to go out. She had horrible squirty diaherra. So at 8am called my vet and we went in. They started her on Metronidazole and we are running tests. Has anyone ever done a TLI/PLI/fol Cob-inc? They are sending it to Texas A&M. I hope we find an answer to her overly sensitive stomach. Right now, per vet advise she is eating Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Moderate Calorie and Science Diet Z/D. My vet things she could have absorption issues or IBD. I do remember her saying this test will also rule out pancreatitis as well. Also will be taking a stool sample in. The last time she had diaherra was 2am so I didn't have a fresh one to take at 8am. Say your prayers for us. I can't imagine what it would feel like to always have a stomach ache

| I think it is time for Taycie to see a specialist. Internal Medicine is where I would start, followed by a phone consult with the vet nutritionist. You just keep spinning your wheels with this vet, and it's time to nail down what is going on with Taycie. Hugs, I know it is difficult.

| Yes, we've done the TLI with folate and cobalamin. Is there anything specific you were wondering about? Been through all of this and honestly there is like a 99.9% chance her intestines wiill always get set off very easily. Has she been tested for pancreatitis in the past? Is this her first TLI? Is her regular bloodwork normal? Have they talked to you about intestinal biopsy? Why are two rx foods being given at once? Have you tried a diet without meat, poultry, or fish in it? Have you just done Metro? Ever tried Tylan? When she gets set off, is she stressed right before? Getting crumbs from the floor? Some dogs are completely intolerant to meat protein. I'm not saying that's what's wrong with Taycie, but it is certainly possible. My girl can't really eat meat at all because she either gets very ill intestinally or gets severe itchies. So even hydrolyzed, the Z/D (although a very good food for some dogs) didn't work for us. If all of the tests come back normal, then the next step really is a biopsy. Whether or not you want to go that way is a very personal decision. We chose not to. She is a young girl though. Definitely something to think about.
