Any inflammation in particular? I'm kind of in the same situation with Nutmeg except with her fine needle aspiration they saw a lot of inflammation. Thanks.

Quick update...the abscess seems to be breaking up. The knot is still there but some smaller. It was very hard at first and I could not manipulate it. This morning it is really loose and feels like a little marble moving around, I didn't call the vet but talked to my DIL vet tech and she said that is a really good sign that it is shrinking and the meds are working.

What they aspirated was thick with a little blood in it. I don't remember him saying anything about inflammation.

From what I understand as the amputations are a result of an abscess being untreated and the infection spreads to tissue and bone. I was trying to take in everything he said and I am pretty sure that was how he explained it. This abscess in right on top of Bogie's spine and though it is shrinking I am still a nervous wreck and worried about him.
