| My yorkie is now bleeding :( My yorkie keeps scratching by her mouth and now it's bleeding.. I've taken her to three different vets and they all tell me different things and don't really help. I don't know what else to do. Help please!! she's scratched her hair off, and is very sad. |

| Does she have food allergies? Maybe you should get her allergy tests .. if it's just food related, then a change of diet can make that go away. Does she scratch anywhere else? I hear the tests are sort of pricey, but once diagnosed the treatment (new food) is not bad.

| She scratches every day, I'm not sure if it's the food. That's the only spot she scratches. |

| When did it start? What were some of the things the vets have told you?

| She's had it since I brought her home. They've said it might be an infections, they gave me treatment and it didn't work. Then they said it was because she had a baby tooth that was causing the pain.. Now the tooth is gone, and her problem hasn't . |

| Hi there... Do you mind me asking how old is your dog? How long has this been going on? What type of food do you feed her? Does she bite at her feet? Can you see if there is any type of insect bite where she's sratching? Didn't any of the vets suggest giving her some benedryl? It won't cure the problem but it should give her some temporary relief until you can figure out what the problem is. It's hard for any of us to say what it is for sure. Your vet can tell you what kind of allergy it is - food or environment - by the symptoms. I have one dog who is highly allergic to the environment. If I spray something in the other room - he sneezes. When we first got him he had scratched the hair off the back of his ears. He had a lot of problems but after our vet flushed out his ears, gave us some meds, and had us use a special shampoo - that has all subsided. He actually has hair now! ♥ Anyway, my suggestion is to find a good vet - they really should be able to help you out by trying different things before you do the allergy testing. Good Luck and let us know what happens.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear about your baby. My cali has allergies and she scratched her nose so bad it bled and she scratched her hair on that side off too. She has allergies but we don't know to what even after testing. The vet put her on an medicine and she is much better. She has to stay on the medicine. You could try a vet dermatologist?

| Patti that's what happens to her. And the vets don't know what it is. And we don't have many vets around here. |

YT 3000 Club Member | chester is a allergy dog as well, I use all free and clear laundry soap and no dryer sheets and an extra rinse as far as sheets and blankets and his dog blankets. I use no air fresners or anything of that sort, nothing in the carpet, wipe his feet off after he has been outside, I would try some benadryl and if that helps then it is not food related. Corn , wheat and soy are big allergens for dogs for their food. I also use salmon oil in his food which is good for allergies as well. I also use a air cleaner esp if the enviromental stuff is higher then usual |

| You might try looking for a grain free food. I am using one by Blue Buffelo. My poodles do not tolerate any protein except fowl, that means NO beef,No Salmon oil, no fish of any kind. Omega 3s can also be found in flaxseed oil. I asked my vet why beet pulp was put in dog food. His response was it is a cheap filler. He also told me that alot of dogs are allergic to it. You might look for a vet that will do more than just look at your babys face, pronounce a diagnosis and send you on your way. You need somebody that is willing to really take a look at several different possiblilities. |

| My 7yr old male does the same exact thing. We went from vet to vet and they all tried something different . Benedryl, hypo allergenic shampoo changed his diet several times, predisone, creams on his face. It was a nightmare we went thru this for 5 yrs. No one could exactly pin point it except for the enviroment and then I met an older vet, and he gave him a depocote shot and finally we have relief. He is finally at peace. I felt so badfor him for all those yrs because he was totally miserable and I felt helpless. He was really a puppy on the edge of literally being drove crazy because he couldn't stop gnawing and rubbinghis face. Thevet said some do not like to give smaaler dogs the shot because it has side effects in the end but to me quality and quanity are two diffeent things and we chose to give him the shots. He is 7 happy and finally peaceful. He gets his shots on average every 6 to 8 weeks. Hope this helps. Sorry so long.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was put on all the standard allergy mess but none helped until the vet put her on Atopica. It worked like a miracle. It's a bit pricey but so worth it. Your baby's looks worse than Cali's. I would try a dermatology vet. I hope you can get some relief for her. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Have you considered a soft collar to prevent her from scratching while the area heals? MomtoHotRod makes a soft elizabeatben style collar that might help.
