I'm so glad Sammy is coming home! He is an amazing little guy! We've been strapped lately with our own dogs and their health concerns, but I'm going to make a little donation right now to Sammy!! I know every dollar counts!

Thanks, Cathy...and yes, every dollar does count. That's why we periodically do our Dollar Days fundraiser. It is great because that thermometer shows how it all adds up. YHR is really getting slammed lately.

Sammy is home! The estimate for his surgery was $1,200....it ended up a little bit over $1,600. I was so happy...then thought how crazy it was to think that $1,600 was not much.

He looks pretty good...but he is really drugged up. He did not know me when they handed him to me and he slept all the way back in the car. I will update later after he wakes up...and I do too from my cat nap.

The nap was not a long one. Anyway...Sammy woke up to eat. He ate very well...I gave him a dose of Tramadol because he seemed a bit painful. He is sleeping now.

I just got off the phone with my vet. Little Sammy's penis is sticking out...just the tip of it but it had me worried. Since he still has some swelling from the surgery and is having ice packs applied....I am to wait until Monday and take him in if it continues. Just apply a lubricant and keep it in as best as I can. Poor Sammy. They can put a suture in to keep it in place if it refuses to stay in. I just don't want him to have to go through anything else.
