The surgeon just called me to ask if it was ok to do a colopexy on Sammy which I am thrilled about because that would be the next problem for this poor little guy. They will be attaching the colon to the abdominal wall. He said the surgery will be around 11AM or 12PM and that it takes about an hour; so they will probably call me around 2PM. Now I can go about taking care of things that I need to do before I start the worrying thing. |

This will hopefully prevent a later issue with the colon slipping into the colon. |
Praying for both you and Sammy! I know it has to be stressful waiting to hear, but I'm hoping and praying that all goes even better than expected! Texas A&M sounds amazing! |
Prayers for Sammy! Hoping for a successful surgery. |
thinking about Sammy, I would think it would be hard for you to concentrate on anything else |
Sammy is in recovery and doing well. The surgery went well without any complications. Right now he is sleeping and she said very groggy from medications. She will call me later this evening with an update! |
That is wonderful news!! :thumbup:I'm so glad the surgery went well!! I know you have to be relieved!! I will continue to keep Sammy in my thoughts and prayers during his hopefully speedy recovery!!:) |
I will be happier later when I can make sure that he can still walk. I am sure he will be able to, but until I know for sure I will be concerned. The AAI scares me. |
Good news!! Samy is doing very well and I will be picking him up tomorrow! :) |

I'm so glad Sammy is coming home! He is an amazing little guy! We've been strapped lately with our own dogs and their health concerns, but I'm going to make a little donation right now to Sammy!! I know every dollar counts! |

Sammy is home! The estimate for his surgery was $1,200....it ended up a little bit over $1,600. I was so happy...then thought how crazy it was to think that $1,600 was not much. He looks pretty good...but he is really drugged up. He did not know me when they handed him to me and he slept all the way back in the car. I will update later after he wakes up...and I do too from my cat nap. :D |

Thank you for all that you do for these foster pups, Linda. You are amazing. Hope you both enjoy a well deserved nap. :) |
The nap was not a long one. :D Anyway...Sammy woke up to eat. He ate very well...I gave him a dose of Tramadol because he seemed a bit painful. He is sleeping now. |
Glad to hear he is eating and resting. And glad to know he is back home with you!! |
So glad to hear that Sammy is home and is doing well and has also eaten as well. Prayers continue for his recovery. |
I just got off the phone with my vet. Little Sammy's penis is sticking out...just the tip of it but it had me worried. Since he still has some swelling from the surgery and is having ice packs applied....I am to wait until Monday and take him in if it continues. Just apply a lubricant and keep it in as best as I can. Poor Sammy. :( They can put a suture in to keep it in place if it refuses to stay in. I just don\'t want him to have to go through anything else. :( |
