I just noticed it on my lunch break and immediately scheduled an appointment. Her vet will see her tomorrow morning. It is a very tiny spot dark spot to the left of her pupil. It's very tiny and some might think I am over reacting, but honestly I don't feel good about it. At first I thought was debris, but it doesn't move. I only even noticed it because she looked at me in the light of a dark room and her eye didn't shine back right so I sat her on the counter and took a closer look. The light has to hit it just right to see it. The lack of any other symptoms actually bothers me more. She does not appear to be in pain, no abnormally excess or absence of tearing, no squinting. She has been the picture of health for the most part and tomorrow can't get here fast enough.

It does not sound awful....hopefully will just be a pigmentation change. That does happen sometimes. It is good that you are taking her to the vet! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck tomorrow.

Me too -- sending prayers for Moka that this is nothing to be concerned about. She has a great mom for seeing it and making an appointment with the dogtor.

These little ones sure do make us worry.

Thanks for the positive vibes. I will post what I find out. I am trying not to worry, but I am the world's worst when it comes to my animals. The white part around her eye under her eyelid is pretty red compared to her other eye, and I just caught her rubbing that side of her face on the carpet so I am definitely glad I am taking her in.

It was/is an ulcer on her eye, but it did not absorb dye and he seemed concerned about that. Something about the outer film growing over the ulcer.. He asked me if we have cats. No cats, and I can't imagine Moka and Mylee playing hard enough to scratch her eye, but we do have lots and lots of thorny rose bushes that I have seen them playing around. Even when you think you've thought of everything they will find something else to hurt themselves with.

It happened to chachi a couple of months ago and there are alot of ways it could happen its pretty common. It heals quickly with meds though

Shelly, I just now saw this. I am praying for Moka that it isn't really serious. Hopefully the ulcer will heal with meds. Keep us posted.

Good thing you took her in to see the doc. As Chachi wrote, the ulcer should heal quickly. It is so easy to scratch an eye. Sending hugs to wittle Moka.

I agree it is so good you got her right in to see the vet. So many people post about the day or days they waited to take their dog in for vet care when something is wrong and is always makes me sick to my stomach just thinking what their dogs have gone through while they wait for vet care to eventually come around! Gosh, I know everyone is busy but too busy to take your dog in when something is wrong with it? I will never get that! Hopefully, Moka's eye will be fine. Keep us posted on how it is doing.

Oh yeah...and we are supposed to be so nicey nicey to them while they are neglecting their dogs....because it is "about the dog". No way....I say tell them to get off their butts and go to a vet. I saw a lady bring her yorkie into A&M today and he was dying from renal failure...all because he had pancreatitis and she watched him vomit all weekend and waited for Monday to go to her vet.

I am so sorry that she has an eye ulcer...it is good you took her right away. What did he give for treatement?

I know the type you all speak of all too well. Thankfully, I am the polar opposite, and have always been the type to take them in sooner rather than later.

He perscribed ofloxacin 3 to 4 times a day for 10 days.
