Thank you for the update. We are always concerned when one of our members baby is sick. Poor Zowi, so many meds but hopefully they will help her regain her health. Cherie |

steve, thank you for asking about her... yesterday she still seemed pretty sick, but she is doing better today. she was even playing with pixie a little this morning! she has been tolerating all these new meds very well and eats all of the rx food for me. i have received some numbers of what i should be looking for in her new diet's analysis (the right amount of fat, protein, and fiber for zowi's conditions) from her dr. and will take the iams low residue in to consideration. thank you for suggesting it. so we are on to the search for her new diet, and waiting 2 weeks (seems like forever) for her results from university of tennessee.... |
2 weeks will pass....but yes, it seems forever. You are doing the best you can for her and we are all in your corner. |

many heartfelt thanks to you all for your well wishes! zowi's symptoms have not improved really so far with the melatonin implant and lignans... i am wondering if maybe her low thyroid is the "missing link." maybe now that that is being treated, zowi will show some improvements with her panting, weight gain, and other symptoms? and once i get her on a lower fat diet that could also help? i can hope and time will tell..... will update... sending hugs to you all and well wishes to you and your furbabies! |
You hang tough. You are doing all you can do. Hopefully the different diet will help, just gradually change over a week. As I said, you have seen 14 1/2 years old Little Maxine, and she is doing well on the IAMS Low Residue. There are other brands out there too. Hoping she started making a marked improvement. |

Just read this thread. So happy to hear that Zowi is doing better and is being taken care of by such a good Mommy and Daddy. I had a terrier that had cushings disease and it seems that things always happen in the extremes. I pray that her thyroid issue can be resolved asap. Please keep us updated. |
