I just gave Taycie her dosage of Pepcid mixed in with her wet RC food and water.

I also gave her the Metronidazole right when we got home.

She is drinking, and playing! She had first BM tonight since yesterday and it was completely normal. I am just glad I got her in when I did. I was talking with a friend who said, if she is acting fine its probably just a bug, I would wait before you end up spending money on her...

I was bothered by this. I was almost hightailing it to the E.R. vet at 11:30.. Thankfully, we had no more vomit.. but I knew if I heard her wretching one more time.. We would be in the car asap.

I am so glad she is home and Big Thanks to all the lovely thoughts. I truly feel blessed knowing so many wonderful people and beautiful furkids:)

Sorry I'm just seeing this! What a scare. I could feel the worry and fear in your writing. :( It's sooo difficult to be away from them, especially when you are not exactly sure what is wrong. Poor girl. I am glad she is acting herself and that she is home safe and sound. Sending *stay well vibes* your way!

Thank you Brit. Thank you for the Stay Well vibes as well. I sure hope it stays this way for awhile!

I'm so glad that little Taycie is home and seems to be feeling better. I disagree with your friend, it is always better to err on the side of veterinary care than not.

What does your vet think this was/is???

She didn't ever really say... She said because she is so extremely sensitive she could have got something so small and that would do it to set her off..I wish I knew too.. I had a Chemistry Panel and a CBC and after speaking with her when I went to pick her up she just said one Liver Enzyme was the only one higher then normal.. Otherwise she looked really good. She did say how well she behaved and her spirits were high...and what a sweetheart she is.. I agree:)

I am still at loss... I really don't know where it came from.. It was seriously out of left field.

My ONLY thought in all of this as I was trying to wrack my brain was I did use Petzlife on her teeth earlier that day.. I do remember reading on another forum somewhere that it has caused Liver Enzymes to go up... It kind of makes me wonder.. I just have no idea..

My friend is crazy LOL... I will never understand that.

Is this the first time she had Petzlife in awhile? One application shouldn't really make the enzymes go up although I'd worry about continued use. Anyway, the only way Petzlife should be used in a dog with IBD (or any dog for that matter) is wih vet supervision. That could definitely have set her tummy off.

No, I have used Petzlife for awhile now.. I usually use it once a week sometimes twice. That morning I did when I brushed her teeth in the A.M. But that was about 9 or 10 in the morning. She didn't start throwing up until after I fed her dinner to her that night. 30 minutes after she ate that is when the throwing up started.

This is the only thing that I could think of that would have upset her stomach, unless she found something that I missed.. I really have no clue.

I really like Petzlife, it's kept her teeth looking great. I use CET toothpaste when I am not using the Petzlife but maybe I should be looking at something different. I am going to talk to my vet today about this.

Taycie did sleep wonderful last night. She hasn't vomited since yesterday morning. The last time being at the vet office.

She has kept down her food, and is loving it:)

I'm so glay Taycie is feeling better. We didn't have anything like you experienced, but the Petzlife upset Lucy's stomach too. She wouldn't eat for a day after I put it on.

Unfortunately, I had to discontinue using it. I didn't even know about the liver enzymes ~ she has MVD too.

Anway, I'm glad Taycie is keeping her food down for you!

We use CET toothpaste also. The specialist vet dentist we saw in Boston was not a fan of sprays and additives and said brushing was the best thing to keep teeth and mouth healthy. My Barney is 11, has never needed a dental, Daisy has had 2 dentals in her 11 years, and Teddy is almost 3 and doesnt need a dental. Diet probably plays a role for my dogs, but I think mostly it is brushing at home that I have done since puppyhood.

Thank you for the info Cathy! I brush Taycie's teeth twice a day. Am and Pm. As crazy as I am about her not eating anything but her RX kibble I am the same with her mouth. Mostly, I use the CET toothpaste but once or twice a week I would use the Petzlife in place of the CET.

I think I might be discontinuing the Petzlife.
