| Jenks woke me up at four AM gagging and now I am freaked out!!!??? We went to be fine no problem . Around 4 AM Jenks starts making this sound like a cat yakking up a hairball and I get him up he gags and gags like he needs to get out a hairball or maybe puke? He has something come up but he ate it before I could see what it was(ewww) He runs to the fridge like he is hungry but I didn't want to feed him with him threatening to puke but finally I gave him some food and it completely stopped??? He never seemed in distress or even bothered by it???? I was petting him the whole time and he just kept licking my hands and wagging his tail???? He is laying at the foot of my chair now resting peacefully like nothing ever happened I am still having a heart attack I am already a wreck because of the flash flood warnings and this is just freaking me out so bad! |

| Now he is up running around jumping and walking on his back legs like he does when he is exited (my husband got up to check on him) He is all happy and exited? I was thinking of calling the emergency vet but now I don't know? |

| I'm sorry Jenks wasn't feeling well. I hope he's ok now.

| Does it look and sound like this? It's called a reverse sneeze. All three of mine do occasionally. When they do have a reverse sneeze attach I blow into their nose. I will pick them up and get close to their nose and blow like you would to blow out a candle. It will stop immediately. Nothing really to be too concerned with and is probably due to allergies.

| It sounded a lot like that but he opened his mouth wider I thought he was trying to puke. He is fine now. But that was really scary! |

| Jenks Sorry to hear of your poor baby's distress, but glad to know he seems fine now. My, these little ones can scare you!!! I wonder if he had an 'acid attack', like GERD, due to his empty tummy??? Once he ate he may feel better when his little tum had something to work on. Hope the flash flood warnings are gone now. Good Luck and I hope the incident has now passed with Jenks' over it all and you are calmer. |

| He is doing much better now and I have calmed down. We still have flash flood warnings for another day I think. |

| Sophie did that exact same thing today, and like you I was freaking just a bit , well maybe one step from running off to the emergency vet. I was so afraid she wasn't able to breathe. She wouldn't lick water off my finger or anything. She just gradually slowed down doing it and eventually stopped. My hubby said he thought she needed to barf but nothing was coming up. I guess it was a hairball. |
