Hershey is in critical condition in the hospital :(
 

I am so upset right now. the tears are falling on the computer as I type this. He has a history of collapsed trachea and is on meds for it. He has been doing so well until yesterday. On Sat I brought him to the groomer and his was fine the entire day and night. Sunday morning he woke up not breathing very well. I figured it was just the trachea acting up so I gave him his meds and we went out for the day. I came home to find that he was vomiting all over the house a bile type look to it. It was too late to go to the vet so I figured I would wait until morning. At three this morning he woke me up with awful breathing sounds. I stayed up with him in my lap until it was light out. He kept spitting up again. I brought him to the hospital and they found he had 104 temp. His bloodwork came back fine as well as his trachea and heart. They found something wrong with his lungs but are not sure what it is. They ran tests but bc of the holiday they wont get results until tomorrow. They are leaning twoards an infection bc of the fever. If not an infection, what else could it be? He is in an oxygen cage hooked up to monitors now and they said he is critical. Have you had any experience with his? what could it be and could he get better or will he die?

Oh my prayers are with Hershey and you. I'm sorry I have no advice though. Keep us posted!

I have no idea, but sure hope they find out what the problem is and get it corrected. Stay strong.

I am so sorry. I don't have a clue either but I will keep Hershey in my prayers. Hugs to him and you. I know it is so hard to see them sick. Please keep us updated on him.

Oh no I'm so sorry to read about Hershey. I pray that he will be ok.

You said you took him to the groomer on Saturday, is it possible that he somehow got water in his lungs? I have heard of that happening and it has turned into Pneumonia.

I was thinking along the same line, that he could have inhaled something at the groomers. I'm so sorry your both going thru such a rough patch right now and prayer will go out for you both.

Praying for little Hershey. I know how you feel. We have the same problem with Kayla. Her fever just shot sky high (106) just from the CT and being so upset about going to the vet for a check-up. Hang in there and everyone is praying for him and you too. I'm sure your vet probably has told you but, when he comes home, try to keep him cool. Run a humidifer. Try never to let him get upset. Mine said to give Kayla benedyrl an hr. before appts. and bring her in when the weather is not real hot. I also got her the Thunder shirt. Haven't tried it yet but will on her next outing. Please keep us updated. I am really concerned for you and your baby.

I don't know what it could be but wanted to say how sorry I am. I lost my Yorkie at 10 years old. He was fine and developed cancer so quick and so aggressive that although we took him immediately upon seeing the lump it was too late. I know how hard it is when you are in such a critical situatiion. I hope he comes out of it and you'll be in my thoughts. Elaine
