God Bless you and Hershey! Hope he will be feeling better soon! My dogs will almost always eat a lick of plain yogurt. Also homemade blenderized rice and turkey with gravy. |

Sending thoughts and prayers your way! |
Happy to hear Hershey is feeling better and at home. I hope he continues to do well and recovers quickly. Little bits of food, every couple hours seems to get mine eating after being sick. I sometimes put a tiny bite in the mouth to get them to taste it. This sometimes gets them to take a few more bites. It seems they always start slowly after not having eaten for a day or more. Will send up a prayer that he starts eating well and continues to get better. |
I hope Hershey is eating now. I'm so glad you have him home and I hope he continues to get better. |
Hope Hershey continues to do well. Canned food, as someone said above is very palatable and will entice him to eat. Even though the Hill's line is low quality we use it as well for a couple days at a time when Bandit has his stomach issues because it helped a great deal and he actually ate it haha. Speedy recovery Hershey!!! |
I hope Hershey is feeling better! |
Sending more prayers for Hershey for his continued improvement. Hugs))) |
wishing the best to both of you..so sorry that he is sick |

My Tia has suffered SEVER constipation since having her anal glads expressed, what problems does this cause????? |
Thank you for your concern. Hershey is actually perfect now. He has 2 more days of antibiotics and then he is finished. He is playful, energetic and eating normally now. He has a collapsed trachea too and now even that seems a lot better. He is laying next to me right now breathing without a sound. Thank God! I'm just hoping this doesn't happen again--wish I knew how he got it. To answer the above poster, he didn't have his anals cleaned out and I never knew that could be dangerous. I definitely have to keep that in mind. |
What a relief to hear how well Hershey is doing. You say that you wish you knew how he got it - I am wondering if TxVicki could be right and the groomer got some water in his lungs? It could happen. Do you know the groomer well and has he been there a lot? You could always ask them if there was an accident last time they groomed him where some water could have got into Hershey's lungs. You can tell them that you are trying to find out how he caught it. So pleased Hershey is eating well and running around again. xx |
So very glad to her Hershey is doing better. Great news:) |
Thanks have been following thread and watching for updates. Kisses for Hershey, stay healthy sweetheart. |

Were you given anti-inflammatory meds and any acepromazine to give at a later time? My 7 yo TeddE is in Purdue Hospital Critical Care right now. I dropped him off for he will be there overnight before any thing will be done. He is in the oxygen cage and is very heavily sedated. I was told they will be doing a fluoroscopy of his trachea, for that is a very good diagnostic tool for this condition. Of course he might have to be intubated, if the worse happens tonight and I am praying that is NOT the case! If all goes well and he calms down, tests are tomorrow to determine what to do to help him. But this does not go away. It does worsen in time. TeddE has had this for four years now. First I was told reverse sneeze, just a cough etc. Then collapsed trachea. Soft palate issue. He had a terrible time trying to breath yesterday at the vet and thru the night. I don't mean to pry, I am just trying to find information. When my vet said to just keep him calm three years ago, I never dreamed it would eventually get so bad he would be in the hospital or I would have demanded the test right there and then!! Sending love to you and Hershey!! Such great news!! :aimeeyork |
Sounds like it could have started as a lung infection that maybe got worse and now has a infection in his blood. My prayers to Hersey and with you and your family. Please keep us posted. |
