A girlfriend of mine just had this same problem. It was a BOT FLY larvae!!

So glad Jersey didn't have to wait for a long time, Mommie got him to a faster vet and baby is getting well. Good job all round.

Poor baby...I would of done the same thing. I could of never waited until Monday either. I would have been totally horrified :eek:. I am happy he is doing well, I have never heard of this before.

Gross never heard of this. I will have to read on that later. I am going to bed now and if I read now I will dream ot have nightmares about it.

People can get them also...this nut on TV had one for months on his stomach...he named it, finally made him sick and had to go to the ER to have him removed....it was huge!!!! Monsters Inside Me...

I saw the one with the crazy lady who had earthworms in her arms and legs ~ she even "fed" them fresh dirt :eek:

I saw the earthworm lady too...that was beyond insane...I HATE WORMS anywhere but in the garden!!!!!!

Bri's is too small for him but Hot Rods Mom made a rush order for me and should Be here tomorrow. Thanks Bo!!!!!!

I'm just now reading this and glad I already had dinner as this all makes me want to lose my lunch! EWWWWW! YUCK! All right... now that I got that out of my system, thank you for sharing this disgusting story as it really is important for us all to know and be aware of no matter how gross it is and no matter how much i wish I didn't have to worry about these kinds of things. I'm so glad Jersey is ok and you have gotten rid of that nasty thing!

Jersey update
 
I woke up this AM to find Jersey with his e-collar off and he was having a licking party:eek: So off to the vet, thankfully no damage done and the drain was removed. Stitches will come out on Tuesday

Okay, just now seeing this thread..... SO glad you listened to your instincts and got it taken care of quickly. I've heard of bot fly larvae but never really thought much of it. So of course because I am not at all affected by gruesome images, I looked it up on youtube. There are crazies on there who remove them from their own bodies.... without the help of a dr.!! Wow! Pretty freaky lookin' critters!

Thanks to you I went to the ER and it removed instead of waiting till Monday like the vet wanted to do
