| ![]() So, she hasn't done the gagging at all today. She has sneezed a couple of times but she usually does that. Over the last few days I felt like I needed to do something to help her throw-up. I hope she keeps improving and gets over whatever was wrong. Thanks for all of the advice, I had no idea what to try to do for her.

| ![]() Praying she continues to improve. I can imagine how scary and frustrating this must be for you.

| ![]() I have no idea, but I hope she stops it and you find out what the cause is. Surprised the Vet can't tell you, or perhaps a specialist or X-Ray. Again, no idea but best wishes |

| ![]() That is a great idea. Just seeing this thread....I swear it sounds like a reverse sneeze although I saw where she looked at the video on that.

| ![]() You're sure it isn't a reverse sneeze? Have seen an endotracheal tube send a dog into that, but that was right after surgery. Not uncommon. I would still wonder about the tube just irritating her, but three days after? That's a stretch. I wouldn't rely on those videos to help you with a kennel cough sound. My dogs did not sound like that. I guess it was similar, but not as prolonged and just somewhat different. At first it happened when Rylee's collar was pulled (originally wanted to use a collar for him). It sounded like a dog choking just like if they were on a collar. At first my vet was very concerned that it was CT. Then came the wet nasally symptoms and we knew we had KC. Could still be underlying CT although I somehow doubt that. He cough and still acts like their is something in his throat that he needs to hack up. Maybe that's "normal" for him though. Trying to remember what Ellie sounded like. She still does it a little bit, so I'll try to pay attention later. She choked and hacked like him. Can't place the other noise now. She was wet and nasally also (probably secondary to KC). They were both sneezing. So I wouldn't take the video as the only way it can present. But it is highly contagious and I'd be surprised if your other pup hasn't gotten it.....

| ![]() OK, so I feel stupid. I looked at the video of reverse sneezing on YT and it didn't look a thing like what Maggie was doing. I just looked at a video that Lady Jane sent and that is what Maggie was doing. A Reverse Sneeze! I don't know why I didn't try to find more videos on reverse sneezing. I just knew she had something stuck somewhere and it wouldn't come up. I stopped short of sticking my fingers into her mouth and feeling around for something that shouldn't be there. She has never done that before and it scared me to death. She didn't do it all yesterday and I thought that she had finally thrown up or swallowed whatever was stuck. And that's the first advice that is given on YT when these symptoms occur. Geez....wait until I tell DH...even better wait until I tell the vet. I wonder why he didn't suggest reverse sneezing?

| ![]() I'm glad that it turned out to be nothing. Like Crystal said, it is strange that it did not start for 3 days until after her dental. Probably was related. When Max did it after his surgery, I covered his nostrils with my finger, which forced him to swallow and the reverse sneezing would stop. Other people suggested to me blowing gently into his face, toward his nose. That worked too. ETA: Don't feel stupid. I watched the CT video 20 times because I was scared it was that. ![]()

| ![]() Her epiglottis was probably angry from the surgery. It can cause reverse sneeze. But still, 3 days after is really odd.

| ![]() I just followed up on this and was glad that the problem was resolved. All 3 of my Morkies have reverse sneezing at times, one is much more often and worse than the other 2. Once all 3 were doing it at the same time and it was pathetic, they were on my bed all honking away and I was trying to help them and settle them down. I think it was triggered by drywall dust during some remodeling here. Karlee has it most often and severe, and I hope to get a video of it sometime. If it wasn't for Yorkie Talk I never would have known what it was and would have been dashing to the vet.
