![]() Hi everyone- i'm really worried about my pup, Bruce. All in the last week he got his rabies shot (threw up 2 times that same day- called vet and they said it was probably unrelated... i think he ate a bit too much apple), we started using some new (kinda cheap) shampoo, and mixing in Chicken Soup kibble with his food. BUT the problem is that a few days ago he started kind of gagging/ coughing without vomiting. He would gag/ cough and then be totally fine (eating and drinking fine, wagging tail and playing). But today he has started doing this sort of squeak/cry out of nowhere and still kind of coughing every once in a while. He has never been boarded or around other dogs who have so I dont think it's KC. We use a harness so I dont think it's a collapsed trachea. Could he be allergic to the new things that I mentioned above that he just started using? I dont know what to do!!! ![]()

![]() UPDATE- Now he is screaming and crying when we touch his face sometimes. I thought maybe he had a cut in his mouth from chewing on something but he will NOT let us into his mouth. He clamps his teeth shut and screams/ tries to bite. He's eating fine though! He's been sleeping alllll day today which is very uncommon for him. Sometimes he even screams/ cries and yelps when nobody is even touching him and he's just sitting there. We're seeing the vet tomorrow. I'm afraid they overloaded him with vaccines the other day and he's having a reaction. We'll see what they say....

![]() Oh that would scare me to death. Poor baby. Hope you find out whats wrong. Is there anyway you could take him in to an Emergancy vet? I know its really ticky with the shots. Dudley is 2yrs. old, 4lbs. and his shots are split up into 3 weeks. One a week until he finishes his yearly check-up. The crying is what would worry me. Please let us know what you find out. Hope that baby is okay and they haven't over vaccinated him.

![]() we took him into the vet this morning. They think the coughing was just a reaction to having something tickling his throat (he had been running around in weeds and grass that day). As for the mystery pain- they think he pulled a muscle in his jaw so they gave him a shot of anti inflammatory meds and told me to let him rest. We'll see if that works!

| ![]() Happy to hear it wasn't serious and you took him to the vet. These babies sure can worry mommies and daddies.

![]() I remember Rubin acting simular and he had a piece of food stuck between two teeth. I made a bite block by wrapping a damp wash cloth around a wooden spoon handle That way he couldn't clamp down on my finger. LOL this is true but so funny, it was a Sunday, so we called our neighbor, who is a people dentist. He came over and plucked the food bit out with some tiny tweezer forceps type tool.
