| Hi, I'm new here! My Yorkie has major stomache problems! As you can see from my username, my Yorkie's name is Apple. She's about 3 months and 2 weeks now, and her stomache the past two days has been grumbling and hurting, and she hasn't been eating ANYTHING. Apple has been screaming and screeching in pain and she can't sleep. We brought her to the vet, and the vet put some KY jelly on her bottom and told us she would go 'poop'. Apparently the reason that her stomache hurt was that she ate the plaster off the walls of our house when we weren't looking. The vet figured that out by taking an X-Ray of her stomache. When we got home, she moaned for about half-an-hour before we found her feces. After that, she kept whimpering and screaming, even now, for what reason I don't know. Has anyone here experienced similar problems in their Yorkie? I'm really worried! |

Didn't he say something like if she gets any worse bring her back. I know a lot of people add a tablespoon of pumpkin to the diet to help them poop, but it sounds like other things could be going on.

| If she is screaming in pain for any reason, then she should probably be hospitalized. I'd be very concerned about an obstruction depending on how much she ate. Nothing you should do at home. Time to see the vet again.

| Poor baby Apple, sorry to hear she has problems. I had heard dogs like sheet rock because it is sweet. I would go to the vet and have him check her again, she may have chewed something else. Hugs and prayers for you and Apple. Welcome to YT.

| We rushed her to the emergency vet at 1:30 am last night. Apple has some gas in her intestines and the intestines might be overlapping or something. Apple has to get surgery. The surgeon has to cut her stomache open to fix it... Tomorrow we can pick her up. She looked horrible when we visited her today, though she'll be fine in about two weeks. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice I hope all your pets will stay happy and healthy! |
