Hoping it is nothing other then a upset stomach. Sending prayers and well wishes. |
I am sorry to hear Jackson is not feeling well :( I will be waiting for an update later today! |
Sending prayers and well wishes for little Jackson. |
Sure hope your Jackson is okay. Tibbe just threw up for the first time in his life yesterday and it was all grass-filled! I was so scared but all his vitals and gums wer fine so I watched him, kept him quiet and I think he's quite all right today. I too feed Tibbe tiny bits of some things I eat and worry about it every time I do. Keep us posted on how the "cool" Mr. Jackson is doing and I hope he is fine and dandy - checks out 100%. |
Poor Jackson, yes please keep us posted. Jackson will be in my thoughts while he is at the Doctor's office. |
Well, guys, sort of bad news. :( I am so sad -- I had to leave him overnight. He does indeed have pancreatitis. I am so glad I brought him in. He will be monitored and hooked up to IV's all night. His poor stomach hurt so bad. The vet touched his abdomen and he yelped. Also, blood came out on the thermometer when he took his temp. :( X-rays came back okay, no blockage or anything. Bloodwork showed high levels of a few things (liver was fine) but he was really dehydrated. I may have forgot the paper at the vets so I will know the exact stuff tomorrow as I don't know the proper wording. I was too much of a mess when I was leaving there. :( I've never left him overnight anywhere except my dads house... I cried when I got into my car :( It's so weird here without him... but I know he is getting better so I feel like he is in good hands. |
Aww- so sorry to hear about poor little Jackson. Glad he got into the vet quickly enough and is on the mend. |
I'm sorry :( Thank goodness that you brought Jackson in immediately. I hope he feels better soon. Did you leave him with a little blanket or something? I'm sure he's going to miss you too :( |

Britt so sorry with Jackson's diagnosis. Sending well wishes to Jackson and big hugs to you. |
I'm sorry Brit. You did the right thing for your boy and he will be home with you in no time. Just a caution, even though he will almost certainly appear to recover completely, he will "never" be a normal dog after this. Recurrent episodes are quite common. He will need to be closely watched around food for life. No fatty or greasy anything for life including chews (also things like cheese). Treats are questionable. I know people get their pancreatitis dog home, see that they look normal, and ease up on the strict diet. It ends up landing the pups right back in the ER. Ellie doesn't seem to be able to tolerate lean chicken and white potato anymore! All pups are different. Welcome to the pancreatitis club. :( :( :( |
Oh Brit, I'm sorry to hear this. I'm sure he's going to be ok though. |
I am so sorry about the DX. I know how you feel about leaving him - we felt the same way about Gina. She had never been away from us, not one single night. Prayers are going out to you two. I know you will keep us informed. Cherie |
Im so sorry hopefully Jackson will start feeling better soon. I have never had to leave Callie at the vets overnight but I couldnt imagine how hard that is. My prayers are with you and Jackson |
