Oh I am hoping and praying that Sammy will be okay. You both have been through so much.....I hope all goes well at the vet today and you get a diagnosis and some answers!!!

I'm praying for little Sammy. I don't know his medical history, but it sure sounds like he has had his share of problems. Poor baby.

Ok...went to my vet this morning and she referred us over to the cardiologist. He still has that cough off and on and his lung sounds are crackly. The cardiologist did an echo and found that while his right side (not left as the ec vet said) is enlarged; but he has no valve issues and everything looked fine.

He does have a collapsing trachea. I just hope it does not get worse.

She believes this is an aspiration given that he has had three intubations in the past month and that would be easy to get. She added another antibiotic and also wants me to give him nebulizer treatments and do chest percussion treatments on him. She also said not to give the torb that the ec vet suggested since we don't want the cough to be suppressed. So...he is back on the bupranex for his surgical pain. He will be going back to her for a follow up.

I am so thankful that there are no cardiac issues!

So Sammy has the big heart you knew he had.

I'm sorry about the other stuff, but at least you know everything now. You always have a good vibe for these little ones, especially the ones who need you the most. You are a pet psychic.

He is a sweetie.

As for your last line : I think I am a magnet for sick pups.

The vet said that the word is out in the streets....the pups know where to go. haha

I am thankful there are no cardiac issues also and hopeful this little guy has been through the worst. He is blessed to have you and there is no better place for him to be right now than with you.
