| HGE, Diaherra and Constipated? I’m so worried. I need some expert advice please. Ginger was diagnosed with HGE on Tuesday after a case of loose stools, diarrhea and finally blood in her stool. They ran blood work and diagnosed the HGE. They treated her with a shot, some meds(pills) and gave her some liquids under her skin. The meds were to stop the diarrhea and to stop vomiting. They only time she threw up was when the vet examined her the first time. (I think she was nervous. ) She came home with me Tuesday night. No issues to speak of. Wed. morning I dropped her at the vet so they could feed her – she fasted all day Tuesday. They wanted to observe her, feed her, etc. for the day. They fed her some canned prescription bland food. They called said she was eating well and acting fine. I thought her issues were resolved. So I picked her up Wed. pm and she’s home. Acting normally, no more diarrhea, eats the canned food without any problems. BUT she has not had a bowel movement since Tuesday with all the diarrhea. When I got home from work tonight I took her for a long, long walk. Nothing, Notta. I plan to call the vet in the morning as they are closed now. What do you think? Should I be concerned? Why hasn’t she pooped? I just want to stop all the worrying? Advice anyone? Could she really just be that empty? She has almost eaten one can of dog food since I have had her home. She has been eating morning and night feedings. So she has one can of food in her and water. Nothing else.

| As long as she's not looking bloated, it could take up to 3-4 days for her to have a BM. I would put a call in to the vet to be sure.

| No bloat and acting normal is a good sign. I would also call the vet in the a.m. just to be on the safe side. Hope she is back to normal soon. |

| I literally did a happy dance and praised her like crazy! I'm glad it was early so no one saw me. They would have thought I was NUTS! Ginger gave me a crazy look too. Hilarious!

| LMBO that is too cute. I have done the happy dance for a poop too, for my kids, my grandkids, and Yorkies too. It is a Mama thing. |
