That is real good news. However, I would make sure to get him into see a Board Certified Opthamologist.....he needs to see a specialist before any eye removing decision is made, or even what can be done for any change of sight. Good luck. |
Glad to hear the eye seems to be improving some. Will continue to prayer for sweet Peanut. |

Welcome to YT! |
If at all possible I would try and make the trip now. How great would it be to potentially save his eye or at least know you received the best advice. I would be afraid that waiting would limit the chances for the possibility of a full recovery. I will continue to keep Peanut in my prayers. |
I would get another opinion. My heart goes out to you and Peanut...sending good thoughts and prayers your way. |

We love our vet but seeing the opthamologist for Maddie's eye was the best decision for her. |
Sending prayers for Peanut. |
So sorry to hear about Peanut, I agree with the others, a specialist can really make a difference. |
If you can three hours away is nothing compared to the loss of sight or an eye. Go on and make that specialist appt, you won't be sorry, to have an expert examine the eye. Hugs to you, it is so scarey when your little one is unwell. |
So sorry to hear about this. I hope you have been to or will be seeing a specialist soon. My toy poodle lost his eye when he was only 8 months old. It was due to an incident with a German Shepherd (who was actually his very best friend and protector - but my pup was the instigator in this case). He was bit right above the eye and it punctured a nerve behind the eyeball. After putting the eye back in properly the vet said we should watch it for a few days. When it started to look like it was shrinking, he had us go to a specialist at A&M and there they put a prosthetic in. They actually removed the insides of the eyeball, filled it with a hard prosthetic and put it back in. It was always a tiny bit smaller than the other one and ended up turning a gray color (kinda looked like he had a cataract) but he lived to a grand 16 years with no problems after that. I'm not sure if your pup's eye is salvagable at this point but you might ask about that option versus removing the entire eye. Good luck! |
OMGosh, how awful. I absolutely agree that if it is poss. get Peanut to a Vet that specializes in this field. Please keep us up dated. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. |
I am sooo sorry for what happened to your Peanut and I hope the eye gets better! Will pray for you and Peanut!! |
So sorry for wht that other dog did to ur Peanut. I hope everything goes well the the eye. |
A second opinion with an animal eye doc is the best advise you could get. Not to compare at all but I had to take my african grey parrot there and am so glad I did because it was nothing at all what the vet said or thought. Good luck little Peanut we are all pulling for you and your mom!!! |
