Have no idea about the background on this one, but it's very likely that if it were a toxin with these symptoms, it would show in blood quickly. Definitely best to repeat tomorrow though. The steroid should control things overnight (theoretically). The neuro may not be in right now, and if the vets agree with your regular vet, they wouldn't call the neuro in tonight (generally). But most specialty hospitals do have ERs. You could just take her there for monitoring until the neuro can see her. Unless this is a really weird situation with the owner being questionable, my first thougth would still be something commonly seen in Yorkies. |

The owner is the mother of the lady who first had these puppies before I took over their care. I do NOT feel that the dog was harmed in any way. I do feel that she has eaten something since she turned so fast in the short time that she was gone. My husband is there now helping to find any clues as to what she could have gotten into. So far the only thing the can see is the plants, potpourri that she had in the entry window and if a pill was on the floor they have found no evidence of it or little pieces. They are now moving the entertainment center to see what is back there in case something was there that she got into. |
I have no advise but wanted you to know I am saying prayers here for her. Please keep us updated |
Guessing the vet ruled out neurological distemper? And even trauma could cause neuro issues. Sometimes there is just no answer, but hopefully the neurologist will get to the bottom of it. |

Tammie keep me posted. I'll keep the prayers and good thoughts coming. If there is anything I can do call me. Just seems like it has been such a struggle to get them all this far then this. You are such a special mom. If anything needs to be done I know you'll do it! |

This brings back so many unhappy memories for me. |
Maybe you will learn more tomorrow. I just can't imagine being where you were today with her. |
She is drinking a lot of water right now. Well I say a lot, she will go and take a couple of laps every few minutes and then go and lay back down. Still stumbling. She did start to cry a few minutes ago. Did that a few times, got a drink and layed back down. Just don't know what is going on. Tried offering her food again and she did not want any but she did eat a lot not too long ago. Gums look fine. Long night ahead. |
God bless little Faith Ann and protect her. Tammi I am so sorry to hear one of your little miracle babies is going through this. I am hoping it is something she ate and that it will not cause her any lasting problems. Sending you hugs and praying for your sweet little Faith. Best Wishes. |

OMG, Tammie I am just now seeing this and I am so worried, scared, and sick right along with you. I've become so attached to these Miracle Babies, and I'm crying my eyes out just thinking of poor little Faith. I'm praying that this will pass, and the cause be known. Hang in there little Faith, we love you soooo much! Hugs to you Tammie, and to Sara's mom who must be beside herself too. |

Your miracle babies have really touched so many of us. I know how scared and heartbroken you are. Your precious babies could not have been in better hands with you loving and protecting them, and I am so sorry that you and little Faith are going through this now. I believe in you, and I know that you are giving Faith Ann the love and care that she needs. You and all of your miracle babies will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. |
Faith has been peeing but her urine is darker in color and has a slight "musky" odor to it. Any thought if that is normal for the meds that she got??? |
Tammie, like Lisa said, I believe in you to. Your loving healing touch will help bring Faith back to normal. I wish I was there to help you thru the night of watching and worrying ahead. My constant prayers are going out to Faith and you. I think it sounds right that Faith ate something, and hopefully you will find out. |
I am so sorry Faith is so sick. Just a few thoughts. Pixie had a severe reaction to fertilizer on the lawn. We did not know the landscapers had put it down. She started acting like she was drunk, and walking very strange and falling over. We didn't find out until a few days later about the fertilizer. Also, are their any teenage kids in the house that may have pllls or pot? I knew a person whose small dog ate some pot and had a neurological reaction. I know the vet didn't think it was from electrocution, but since she was found behind the entertainment center it seems possible. Or possibly putting her tongue in a socket. Just trying to think of possibilities. Can you put her in a crate and put the crate on your bed for the night. I will keep her in my prayers. |
The vet said if she would have received a shock then she would have had some fur burnt around her mouth and she didn't. He thinks she was trying to hide and very confused. She was walking the wall when she got back there. We believe she got whatever it was before then and that is when it became noticable. I thought about the crate but then she would not have her food or water and I felt she would need that. I will be staying in here with her since she has started the crying again. Could not be anything that she got from outside since her feet have yet touched the outdoors. Parvo is bad in Texas and they are NOT allowed outside until they have their 3 sets of shots. She was supposed to get her's today but didn't. Now, someone could have brought something in but they have had no yard work done recently. She was not even allowed around her other dogs. |
I pray that the morning light brings little Faith into better health. I know that this baby could not be in more caring hands. if anyone can save this baby through prayer, you can. You remain in my heart and on my mind. Love Jackie |
Just took a turn for the worse. She has blood in her stool. She can NOT see in the dark cause she just hit 2 walls. |
ER time. Godspeed to both of you. |
Oh no! Im terribly sorry to read this. Will be praying for your furbabies well being. Please keep us posted. :( |
