| I am just seeing this thread now. I'm breathing a sigh of relief that your precious Maximo will be all healed. I'm sure both of your boys are so glad to have their mom at their side caring for and loving them. I hope all of you get a peaceful night's rest. |

| Max and the rest of us slept very well last night. It's obvious that he is relieved to be rid of his excruciating pain. This started as Max's second corneal ulcer in his right eye. He reacted badly to the usual tri-thalmic eye drops and the eye became severely inflamed. His third eyelid popped out and I thought we were now going to have to deal with cherry eye. Raced back to the vet. The inflammation finally revealed the pesky, very fine little hair that has been causing all of this trouble, and had evaded detection even with super magnification in prior exams. The doctor wanted to do surgery right away, but Max had just eaten a full meal. Usually this condition afflicts only pups and young adults, no more than 2-3 years of age, and then it goes away for good (except in shih tzus). Typically the hair will create a groove in the corneal surface. Max didn't have that. He had excessive tearing off and on over the past month, but I dismissed it as a reaction to the pollen "dust storms" we had this spring. Otherwise, his eyes would look great for days. Max's previous problems in his other eye may have been caused by the same thing. Sometimes the hair dissolves on its own or with medication. The doctor examined that eye thoroughly while Max was under and didn't find anything. I pray Max's adventures in eye problems are truly over this time. Thank you again for all your prayers, good thoughts, and support.

Major relief! By the way, everyone at the vet's office admired Maxman's Kiss-E Cone collar, and I believe they took note of the tag with the website. Max love his collar. I had to put a plastic one on him while I cleaned yogurt off of his Kiss-E and he hated the plastic one.

| How did you get so many quotes in one post, Kristin? I thought we could only multi-quote a max of three?
