Maximo needs positive thoughts
 
Max will be having laser surgery Thursday to remove eyelashes and a tiny bump from the underside of his eyelid. :(

On a positive note, I asked the vet if he thought a dental should be done at the same time, but he thinks Max's teeth look great.

Poor baby! I'm sorry he's having to go through this. Does his doctor think this will get rid of all the eyelashes that are irritating his eye?

This should take care of it for now. Admittedly, my brain wasn't working and I neglected to ask about the probability of recurrence.

The vet is going to call later with the pre-op blood results, so I will ask then.

Oh Kristin I'm really surprised to hear this! I know his eye ulcers have been recurring but never thought surgery was an option. Is this a complicated surgery? I'm very hopeful that this will prevent any future eye irritations for Maximo and that he'll get through no problem. Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Karen for your support. This is a simple procedure from what I understand and shouldn't take long.

The vet called to confirm Max's bloodwork came back perfect.

Sending positive thoughts for Maximo and his mommy!! Poor little guy, I bet he will feel so much better after those lashes are removed.
I had an eyelash that grew under my eyelid a few months ago. I had horrible pain in my eye and the moment the eye doctor removed that lash it was instant relief. It had caused an ulcer on my eye and luckily it wasn't on the cornea. Good luck!!!

Positive thoughts for Maximo. My girlfriends Cavalier had to have the surgery done and I went with her for the appointment (eye specialist) and they did the procedure that day. e picked her up 4 hours later and she was fine. That was about 5 years ago and she never had a reoccurence.
