Thank you Bo. Max is sporting his stylish Kiss-E Cone Collar. It is a life saver, or in this case, and eye saver. Far more comfortable than any other e-collar.

Kristin, your little man is going to be fine today! I'll keep him in my prayers that this solves his eye problems. Give him an extra hug and kiss for me today. :)

How old was Maximo when his eye problems started?

Thank you Bonny. :) Max had his first ulcer in his left eye on his 2nd birthday, Nov 2010. Two weeks after we thought it had healed, he had another small one in the same eye. Could have been incomplete healing, as Ladymom thought.

His problem eye is now the right one. I read that this eyelid hair problem is typical in pups and young adults and usually doesn't reoccur after age 2-3, except in shih tzus, who are at risk all of their lives.

The vet and I have a lot to discuss and I will share here what he says.

Poor Max was so cranky about missing breakfast, and he looked scared to death when I handed him over. :( I held myself together, but I wasn't happy to see the tech carry him off with only one arm wrapped around him when I just finished explaining that he is a squirmy, strong boy. :(:(

I should receive news no later than 2 pm, probably earlier, and will likely be able to pick him up by 3.

When I returned home, poor Teddy was desperately looking behind my feet for his brother. He isn't happy either. :(

We're keeping Maximo and teddy in our thoughts and prayers today. We will be back to check on him this afternoon. Hang in their Mom, I think right now this is harder on you, because he will sleep right through it, but he's strong and he'll be great. Find something to keep you busy, maybe some spring cleaning (yuck).:rolleyes:

Maximo is out of surgery and awake!! According to my nice tech lady, he is "looking good." I asked if he was whimpering or barking, and she said no, he is lying in his cage quietly looking at her. She held the phone up to him and was talking to him. :)

I am meeting with the vet at 4:15, but the office said I can come early and sit with Max. I pray the vet has good news for me.

Thank you all for your support, your positive thoughts, and your prayers for my little boy. :):)
