				   | We are home from the ER. Hadley is being treated for a UTI. Because of nervousness or maybe just the UTI he had an accident at the ER and they could not get a urine sample but the doctor still felt sure that was the problem. He was given a shot of antibiotics and we were sent home with antibiotics for the next several days. He is about the same. But he did get a little excited at the birds earlier and he is up walking around the house now. They said he should start feeling better tomorrow. As for the hair loss, the doctor said that sometimes when they feel bad and feel stressed it causes the hair to fall out or he may have been biting the pain. He was such a good patient to not feel well. He is so well mannered....other than the accident. He also came home and relieved himself on a towel in the bathroom. He is house trained, so hopefully this UTI will be over soon and he will not learn bad habits from needing to relieve himself places he normally wouldn't. Thanks so much for all the info and well wishes. Maybe we can all get some sleep tonight now. |

				   | Oh, I'm so relieved that it may be just a UTI. Those things can really get to them. I hope he is doing much, much better tomorrow and did not have to wait until Saturday. He might have gotten kidney involvement by then, if it got too bad. Does the vet want to see him back or just prn if gets no better?

				   | Hadley is feeling much better, although the antibiotic does seem to be upsetting his tummy a little. He was taking it very well until today and he just would not have anything to do with it. So we lost that dose. I may have to figure out a different way to get it down tonight for his second dose. Thanks again to everyone who showed concern for his well being. I know I don't spend a lot of time on this forum, due to the fact that I have three kids and work, but I knew this was the place to ask for advice. Thanks again |

				   | If he continues to lose hair please have your vet check his thyroid, hair loss in dogs is a very sure sign there is a thyroid problem. Yorkies dont shed so it should be looked at if he does not feel better soon ![]() Yorkshire Terriers: Health issues in Yorkies Breeders should be aware of.

Are there any other symptoms of thyroid problems? I knew that Yorkies do not shed and I was very worried about it . It isn't a lot, but enough to notice it in his bed from time to time. We did catch him kind of chewing at his side, so I thought maybe it was from that. He never has any ticks or fleas, nor does our Aussie who stays outside. Thank you for your advice | |
