Prayers for Wisdom in your decision making, and peace and recovery for your little pup! |
I had a little one with CT. Surgery was never an option for her, so we did not have to weight such a decision. My heart goes out to you. I pray for wisdom for you - its obvious you love this dog dearly. |
I will say prayers for Zoey Grace. I also need to make the decision whether or not to go through with stent surgery on my dog. It's such a difficult decision. The specialist that does the surgery is only about a half hour away from us in NYC. She said the surgery can be very successful but there are risks. The stents usually last about 2 years before having some type of complication. This is what is making my decision so difficult. Did you try an antibiotic? For some reason, that is what seems to helping Hershey. I would try different meds and maybe weight loss if Zoey Grace is over weight. If that doesn't work then surgery might be the best way to go. I have spent hours researching this and spoke to many vets and specialists. I am also thinking about bringing him to a holistic vet. Please keep us updated--I wish you and Zoey Grace the best. |
Thinking of you and Grace. My foster dog Cupid had the stent put in...medications were not working for him and he had a complete trachea collaspe and was not able to breathe even while resting. Stenting him was my only other option besides putting him to sleep...he was not even 1 years old at the time so we opted for the stent. While he is still not perfect, he still coughs at times, he is able to enjoy life. He goes for walks every day and plays with his foster brothers every day too. Cupid also had severe pneumonia which has caused him to have lung damage which is also some of the cause with his breathing issues.... Only you can make the decision about that to do, but if I had to make the decision all over again I would still go ahead and stent Cupid. However, this decision was only made after we had tried numerious medications on him to no avail.... |
Thinking and praying for you. I lost my previous Yorkie 2 years ago after doing everything I could possibly do. The one thing I learned is that no one knows their baby better than you and you will do what you feel is best when the time comes. The decision will be made with love and it will be the right one. Blessings!! |
Will keep Zoey Grace in my thoughts. I feel that whatever you decide to do it will come from your heart and it will be the right thing. I am just so sorry this has happened to Zoey Grace. |
