| so scared It's 4 in the morning and my husband and I are at the emergency vet with Gizmo. He woke up at 4 coughing terribly almost making a choking noise. Please say prayers for him. I'm somewhat of a wreck but my husband is keeping me together.

| Just read this. I know you are scared. Is there any chance it was reverse sneezing? I sure hope this isn't something really bad and pray you get some good news from the vet and your baby comes home soon!

| It probably came on too quickly for kennel cough, but that may still be possible. Xray look good? Were any chews given today?

| Gizmo is asleep on me now. The x ray showed no collapsed trachea, however there seems to be a little bit of cartilage abnormality in the upper cavity. The vet thinks this could just be inflammation from coughing our he could be just born that way. Also, Gizmo's heart, which was big and beautiful, seems to be turned a little and not symmetrical. He said this should not cause a problem but he doesn't see it too often. His diagnoses is that its a respiratory infection/kennel cough. He was put on a strong dose of antibioticsand Robatussin. Tonight was terrifying and its nights like these that I'm happy I enrolled him in an insurance plan. I have to stay home from work with him today to make sure everything is okay. Thank you all for all your prayers. Hopefully, its just kennel cough and the heart and abnormal cartilage isn't an issue. However, I think ill have my normal vet take a look during his neutring, per the emergency vet, to see if the cartilage abnormality is possibly causing some soft pallet blockage. Anyone ever heard of that?

| Souns so scary. Tibbe used to do something like this after he'd been chewing on his chewies since his pharynx is small or something, I guess. I sure hope your baby has a nice restful day and his cough goes quickly away. You get some rest, too.

| No, I have never heard of that, but there are a lot of things I'm not familiar with. I hope your little one will soon be feeling great again. Sending my best.
