How long after vaccinations did his symptoms start ? Sounds like GME to me. When you see the neuro PLEASE ask for an MRI AND Spinal Tap. By Monday, I hope you mean the 28th as this IS an Emergency situation and most likely NOT equilibrium.

Poor little guy. So sorry to read this and I pray you can find out the real problem quickly and this is a case that can be easily treated.

I forgot to post that Polo is in Icu in Nashville took him last night they monitor him 3 times every hour. Vet there said it is something with his brain
maybe GME and she said other stuff too I can't remember I was too tired and didn't want to think about it too much I felt like I was in a dream and was going wake up with him being fine:(We are meeting with the Neurologist tomorrow morning at 9:30

I am so sorry that Polo is so ill. I will keep him, and you, in my thoughts and prayers. If this is indeed GME there are treatments that work for it. You might want to read about one of our foster pups, Roriee, who came to us extremely ill in May, 2010. You can read about her at:

I can understand how helpless you might feel but please know you are doing way more than the average pet owner. I will be praying for you and Polo constantly. Try to make sure they have him as relax as possible because you don't want any stress to contribute to his already unusual symptoms.

This is the neurologist that specializes in the treatment of GME. If you can't go there, I would recommend emailing him, or calling him. He, or his assistants, will be able to tell you more about the testing that needs to be done, and may be able to recommend a Neuro Vet in your area that can work with him in evaluating your pup and getting him on the appropriate path to healing.

Wishing you and Polo the very best today as you go to your Neurologist Appointment! I've been praying for your little guy along with a few others with health challenges. Modern vet medicine can come up with some wondrous things so think positive! (I know I don't need to tell you that as you'll be thinking the very best thoughts possible!)

Update: Just got back from the Neurologist Appointment she said she thinks it is Encephalitis she is doing a Spinal Tap today and starting him on steroids after the spinal tap .Please pray that he is responsive to the steroids and gets better. I got to hold him today he seemed fine but he almost fell out of hands thank God the Neurologist caught him.
