So sorry you have to go thru this scare, and I wish Zoey a full recovery.

I know you are probably worried about how she will look without one eye, but I think it will be just fine. I remember a person posting a couple years ago about a Yorkie that lost an eye, they stitched the eyelid closed, and with her furry little face it wasn't that noticible. She will have an adjustment in compensating with vision in the other eye, but will adapt.

The most important thing is that the tumor is gone, and this surgery may have saved her life.

You and Zoey are in my prayers, and I hope good news will follow.

the university of Mo Coulmbia... they are so nice and they will help you no matter what. When Charlie was sick last year I was referred to them by a co worker and you know they offered to look over all of charlies records to see if they could find something the local vet could not. and if I wanted to get him seen they would work him in. absolutley call them they specialize in animal health and are always looking for new treatments for animals

Wow .. just seeing this. Hope that all is well now. You have a great groomer! Mine is like that...she has found things on my pups over the years that I have missed.

Goodness. Just seeing this thread now. I'm sorry that Zoey had to have surgery, but you better give that groomer a huge tip for catching this. She may have just saved Zoey's life! I hope Zoey has a quick recover and the biopsy results are good news.

so glad you went ahead with the op, as this turned out to be life threatening, i wud not have waited either if my vet had said that, love and kisses to wee zoey and hopes she makes a full recovery x x x

Zoey had her surgery on friday. After the surgery Vet called and said the whole eye was a solid mass

He has sent it off now have to wait for results to know where we go from here. Zoey is doing really good, a little sore and some drainage but she came home and ate and drank which is good news having problems getting her to take meds- pills and liqiuids she really smart when it come to taking meds,

well she's getting around really good as if nothing was wrong i wonder how much she was seeing before? cause shes getting around very good.

When the groomer found this spot on Zoey's eye she had given her bath hair was wet around face, Her eye kind of blugged out just enough that she saw something. So she raised the eye lid then she saw a red pimpled like spot on her eye. That is when she called me to see if i wanted vet to look at it. I have never notice anything different about her eyes she doesnt rub at her eyes. I never ever thought of raising the eye lid and looking at the eye but believe me for now on i will Sherry my Groomer has Saved my Baby.

I will be always greatful to her!!!!

Update- Vet called said eye tumor is benign

This is the best news I have had in along time. Zoey is getting around really good, I take her monday to get the stitches out.

she is so amazing! I dont know what I would do with out my girls.
