| Diarrhea My mom's maltipoo(3 years old) had diarrhea all in his kennel when she came home from work. She let him outside and he had diarrhea again. It also seemed like he was straining and walking around trying to go. Other than that, he drank some water and is running around playing just fine. He doesn't act sick. She is going to give him plain boiled rice instead of his feed. Anything else she should do for now? Pepto or maalox.. Can that be given to him? If it gets worse or isn't better by in the morning she will of course bring him to the vet. Thanks a bunch!!

| I don't like giving medication unless I am sure I know what the problem is. Can your mom contact her vet? Did the pup eat anything out of the ordinary? Definitely see the vet if the pup continues to have diarrhea or other symptoms.

| Well, he's not usually one to eat anything unless it's his food. He doesn't go around in the yard and eat dirt, sticks, etc. He did have an episode a year or two back and the vet gave him so antibiotics and he was better the next day. I was just wondering if there is anything we should do to help calm his stomach. I know I've heard boiled rice/chicken..

| I would stick to boiled rice/chicken and maybe plain canned pumpkin until talking to the vet.
