| Reverse Sneezing or Collapsed Trachea On Monday our 6 year old Jazzy went in for one molar to be pulled. She was out for the extraction. The vet said that it almost fell out so there was no real work involved. Now she is hacking a little and has been since we got her home. I let her out on Monday and it was -20 here. Could it be a cold or collapsed trachea or reverse sneezing? She does it when she is excited. The vet said that they could have irritated her throat when they had tubes in it. I am going to get her back to the vet on Monday. Also she has 6 teeth pulled last year with no issues by the same vet. An update. I was just playing with her and she never snorted or sneezed once. She was chasing her ball all over the house. The one thing I did notice is she does it mostly when she comes in from being outside in the cold. Last edited by dcapper; 02-11-2011 at 04:05 PM. It's funny you posted this because Brielle woke up one night last week with sneezing and honking a little. I was worried since she was spay surgery about a month ago. It hasn't happened again so i'm assuming it was reverse sneezing.

| I am confused on the two. Kayla will do that too when she gets excited and sometimes it just starts. The vet said she needed to lose some weight. About 3 lbs. I know she does need to lose weight but I don't think that is it. I hold her and rub her throat real easy up and down and just talk to her or try to get her mind on something else. Eventually it stops but it is scarey. I hope your little baby doesn't have CT. I just would like to be able to tell the difference and not worry about her so much. She last had a spell about an hour ago when she was running and playing with Dudley. Do you know the difference in the sound they make?? |

| Many times after surgery, pups will cough a bit because of the intubation. It usually goes away in a couple of days.

| Reversed sneezing or Collapsed Trachea Dexie is 16 months old. Sunday night he started making gagging sounds but never threw up,monday morning i took him to the vet after he had trouble eating without making those horrible sounds.Vet said it could be reverse sneezing from his sinuses and gave him antibiotics. It is now tuesday but he seems lifeless and does not eat well though the sounds are much less, now he sounds like he has got a cold. but it worries me that he is not himself. I am freaking out and can not afford another consultation right now. What do you think?
