| Need Help! :( Sushi not eating and constipated. Hi, My little yorkie baby, Sushi, has been making me worry sick lately. Last month, we rushed him to the vet because he vomited bile with red specks on it. On that night, he came to me, wanting to just stay on my lap and was very clingy, which is rather unusual. I tried to play with him but he wouldn't, even if it was with his favorite toy. He would just wander around and would just sit in a corner looking so sad and sleepy. He wouldn't eat or drink. What made me nervous was the time he jumped on my lap and was shaking, like he was in pain. Then he vomited a brownish-reddish liquid. The vet did some test, and was found that he was poisoned. I was a bit surprised as we are very careful with cleaning substances, etc.. in the house and make sure that he wouldn't pick up anything that's not for him on the floor. He spent days in the vet, and when he got home he was back to normal which was a relief. Just this month, Sushi started vomiting bile in the morning. I noticed that he hasn't been eating and drinking that much. He started being clingy again, just wanting to be on my lap. That night, I heard loud gurgling sounds coming from his tummy. I thought maybe he was just hungry because he hasn't eaten that day. I tried feeding him, he won't eat. I tried to see if he would play as this is his favorite activity. He would just lay around, wanting to sleep. Then he got up, sort of in a panic. Then he started shaking. I felt his tummy very tight and hard, and i could hear him cry. I sent him to the vet the very next day and again had lab tests. I was told that he had hairball blockage. So the vet did enema on Sushi and gave him laxative because he was said to have constipation due to the blockage. He was told to stay there for days again so that they can closely monitor him. While there, he wasn't eating, so they had him on dextrose. I tried bringing him food there, but still refuses to eat. 4 days later, he was allowed to go home and was told that it's perfectly normal if he'd have lose stools for a couple of days due to enema. It has been just five days since he came home. He has been eating normally and in his lively happy self until yesterday when the same symptoms showed up again. Except for the loud gurgling sound in the tummy and he isn't shaking. His poo is very very little and jelly like. What could this possibly be? Still the hairball blockage? I have been making him wear an e-collar so as to avoid licking to prevent hairball blockage. I tried feeding him rolled oats but wouldn't eat, as this was advised by the vet. I don't know what else to do. I'll be bringing him to the vet again in a little while. Has anyone experienced this with their babies? |
