| Yorkie jerking head side to side Hlp! Our 2.5 year old Yorkie is displaying some rather strange behavior. He is very restless and is constantly jerking his head back over one shoulder and then over the other. It's like he hears something behind him and he turns, but it's been going on for about 24 hours now. Several months back, he seemed to have found his tail. One afternoon he spent about an hour chasing his tail in circles, first one way and then the other. He hasn't done that since. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | My guess is something is going on with his ear(s)....perhaps mites or an infection. He should be seen by your vet.

| Agree that you should get your dog to a vet as soon as possible.

| This sounds like it could be more then an ear problem. Yorkies are prone to some serious neurological conditions. You deff need to have your baby seen by a vet ASAP. |

| I agree with all of the above. This pup needs to be seen by a vet sooner rather than later.

| Has he been vaccinated recently? If not, do not get any vaccinations until this problem is completely resolved... And yes, see the vet asap...

| Thanks for the suggestions. He's stopped the head movements for the most part now. That's what puzzles us is that it comes and goes? Had this 2 weeks ago, asted for about 6 hours and then went away until yesterday..... |

| I would take him to the vet. If you could take a video of it you can bring that so the vet can see exactly what is happening. Hope your baby is OK. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was doing this yesterday. It was like she was trying to bite her but. I gave her her allergy medicine and she stopped. If she does it again I will get her to the vet. I hope your baby is ok, but I would check it out with your vet since he has been doing it for 24 hours and was chasing his tail before.
