| ![]() Lizzy07 says she once lived in Merritt Island, FL and took a pet to the University of FL in Gainsville. She said they worked miracles. In the morning, I am calling them and setting appointments for both of these babies and I now have a vet referral from my retired vet when I need one here. Their is light coming through the tunnel. These babies are on their way. I feel so uplifted and have a resurgance of energy that wiped out some of the hopelessness and feelings of frustration out. Thanks for all the support and I will keep updating.

| ![]() I found out that my retired vet referral to another vet had a graduate from the Univ of FL in Gainesville and they have run a battery of test on Chad and today are doing another. We hope today will help us find something that will lead us to an action. I love this new vet and all the vets associated in the office. They are experts and real professionals. Chad is in excellent hands. I know that we are getting to the bottom of this and they are going to take care of Bubba too. After spending nearly $900 for vet services prior to this vet and getting no where money is very tight and they are working with us on that and are proceeding to take care of him agressively regardless of ability to be paid up front for the entire amount and are allowing us payments. Yesterday was $400 and today is estimated at $300. We paid $200 and are making payments on the expanding balance. They stated this little guy should never have made it this far and that it is our care that has made the difference. It is such a good feeling when you are appreciated for your efforts and not seen just as a $. Anyone in the central Brevard County area of Florida who is looking for a well equipted and professional vet needs to consider Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital in IHBch. I will update when more when we have more concrete information. Thanks to you and all of those helping to support us with the care of these two guys. Mary

| ![]() Was wondering how the little babies are doing? Are they doing any better and did you get definitive diagnosis for them? I hope they are doing better.

| ![]() UPDATE on Chad and Draco (Bubba) Chad has swallowing disorder, most dogs do not live to be diagnosised. Chad is 8 weeks and counting. When he is 6 months we will look at a $3000 test/surgery procedure that has a 50% success rate if the procedure indicates the problem is a certain set of swallowing muscles in the top of the swallowing area. We have to get food down successfully and keep him clear of aspirant pneumonia. He eats every 3 to 4 hours except for 8 hours at night now. Lord is he cute and ornery! Draco has an epicoid cyst basically it is a transparent bubble in the soft spot that is full of brain lining fluid and brain matter. It is only about 1/4 inch high and wide. The xrays indicated a defect in the bone and underlying tissue. He is have very slight neuro symtoms and is thriving. When he is 6 months, miracously the bone will have closed and the material inside the brain cavity or more likely we will be doing CT scan to see if the feeder is localized or connected to more than one area. I have decided to make both of these boys the best life possible while they are here and if the opportunity is there for more we will walk that road as it lays before us. For now, they have an excellent vet who is doing a case study on both, human parents that dote on them, and a name to live up to. We are going to all grab life and hold on to it with gusto. I want to add a video but I do not know how to use YouTube to upload it too and when I figure that out, I will put it on my page and in the video forum. Thanks for the support all of you have given. It has been a tremendous help. Mary

| ![]() Mommy is scheduled to be spayed and daddy is now neutered. I agree about Premium Breeders and I am not sure they really went away because I have seen their embedded url that they can not remove on other sites like YorkieBreeders or MalteseBreeders and other breed specific sites. I wish I had the link for you but I let it go. Also, I believe registered dogs with AKC has become a concern. While I enjoy purebreds AKC limits breeding to just those registered and even DNA can be misleading unless grandfather, father, son, and etc are all DNA! Mom's need to be DNA also. I have seen many people not following guidelines and I feel that breeding should be more open (not just a registery) if one is going to breed. Mostly for those registering dogs it is about money to the organization whether it be AKC, CKC, etc. They make it look as though they are very careful but in reality... Observation says more... I think we really need to ge able to register only based on DNA for purebreds and if a dog is not in the registery and test indicate DNA is yorkie and vet says is yorkie, then register and have better representation in the gene pool. That will improve the breed and the health of the breed. Registration should be about registering the DNA not just a litter or whatever...
