Help sprained/broken paw during BLIZZARD!

Don't be sad. I take everything as a sign. The vet couldn't get to you, but it's probably because he didn't need to. Keep your baby crated and as still as possible and visit the vet first thing in the morning.

Goooood news everyone! I went to my vet today and they checked her out. They wanted to take an x-ray for 375 dollars ( -.-'''') and then I decided to go to the vet who stood me up's office because he would be a lot cheaper (35$ for an x-ray). So I went and asked him what happened yesterday and he said that he waited for me at the clinic for an hour! Turns out he thought I was going to go to him and I thought he was gonna go to me. So whatever he took the x-rays and nothing seems to be broken...just seems to be a bad sprain. He didn't even charge me a thing! And thank goodness because I was so worried about the bills.

She's ok and I've been putting her paw in warm salt water and he said I could give her one drop of childrens tylenol for the pain. He says she'll be fine in a couple days!

I want to thank every single one of you for all the love, support, and prayers. I could not have stayed sane through out all of this with out you. <33333333333333

I am so happy to hear that Layla's leg isn't broken. We have been so worried about her and you. I hope you don't mind me asking this question, but did the doctor say children's tylenol? I've used buffered aspirin, but I always thought tylenol was toxic to dogs. You and your little baby are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she heals very quickly. It sounds like you have a wonderful new vet to take her to. It's such a comfort to know when you have a vet who you can trust.

I cannot help but wonder what kind of xray that other vet was going to do. $375 is a ridiculous amount of money! A single xray at my vet is around $80 give or take a few dollars. I forget the exact amount.

Oh....it hit me after I posted the above...you use Banfield! That explains the ridiculous charges for an xray. Thank goodness you found a more reasonable
vet. Probably a much better one as well!

I think I paid like $100.00 +/- for a full body x-ray of Levi when he choked on a bully stick. That seems really high to me ( $ 375). But, regardless it worked out with the other vet. Glad your Layla is doing better.
