				   | Was wondering if anyone can give me any information or has gone through having a hernia fixed. Lexi is 2 years old and goes in to have hers fixed on January 4th. My husband and I are a nervous wreck to say the least. She is small and I worry to death about having her put under. The vet is going to clean her teeth then too..so she will have pearly whites! My vet didn't make it seem to be a big deal at all but said she definately needed to get it taken care of as it is prutruding out. What happens after surgery? Recovery? thanks so much for your insight I so appreciate your thoughts...hugs Cheryl & Lexi And wishing you a very Merry Christmas

				   | Really do not know a lot. My daughters little fur baby had one. Surgery went well and you can't even tell she had a hernia. She came thru it with flying colors. Keep us posted. |

				   | I'm sorry Lexi has to go through that. I understand your worry. A long time ago I had a 6 pound little girl that had to have hernia surgery, when she was nine. It was a lot scarier then than it is now. Everything is safer now than it was then. I can still remember how scared I was. She did fine. This was a long time ago, but she came home with a bandage wrapped completely around her and she did fine. She just walked awkwardly for awhile. She lived to be seventeen! I'm sure Lexi will be just fine. I worry so much whenever Kacee has to go under. It's natural to worry.

				   | I had 2 repaired with no problem. However, never had a dog that had one. Would not worry too much if you have a good vet that specializes in small animals....and is experienced. Our Yorkie is almost 14, was was put under 6 months ago for a teeth cleaning. Make sure they do a blood panel before the surgery and that over all she is well. Best of luck, and she will be fine! |

				   | Sophia had this surgery years ago. I was so worried too. She came through great though. I'm sure it'll be okay for your pup too. I'll say a little prayer for her!

				   | I'm so sorry you and Lexi have to go through this. Lexi will be fine from the anesthesia if you have a good vet and you have her blood checked.prior to the surgery. I never got used to my girls having anesthesia, even though they did fine each year that they had their dentals done. Ashley needed to have three surgical procedures after the age of ten, even though my vet wouldn't have put her through it due to an enlarged heart unless absolutely necessary. Her last one was when she was sixteen, and she did great. You and Lexi will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you have a happy holiday and new year filled with many magical moments and blessings, and I wish you the best of health to you and the rest of your loved ones. |
