![]() Max usually sleeps right next to our bed but tonight he seemed a little restless and weak. i am EXTREMELY worried. 9 PM I noticed him trying extremely hard to release his stool but to no avail. He kept trying so hard for up to 10 minutes straight with nothing coming out, his poor little head bowed down all the way to the floor. After watching him carefully we decided to rub his tummy and turned him over only to see his stool stuck in his butt. We weren't sure what to do so we wiped as much as we could off of him and place his bottom in the sink with warm water in hopes it would soften his stool. We ended up tugging it out softly as he wimpered and his anus was quite red. We gave him a shower and rocked him to sleep and placed him on our bed to watch. !0:30 pm Max wakes up and we place him on the pad again. He's restless and walks around trying poo. We check his butt nothing stuck. He later lets out an extremely wet stool. We wipe him and rub him again as he shakes then falls back asleep. 11:45 pm Max wakes up and vomits on the floor. The vomit is Yellow and fairly solid. It had solid pieces of his dog food. He falls asleep again. 12:10 pm max vomits in his bed. Solid yellow again. Tries to poo again but nothing this time comes out. Now he's fast asleep in the corner of the floor. Seems to be breathing fine. I tried to give him water which he drank before he went back to sleep and considered giving him a fraction of a cracker but he fell asleep before i could make a decision. My room mate says that he probably ate something disagreeable but i am still worried. Should i bring my little boy to the vet tomorrow? I feel like im just going to end up watching him for most of the night. But if you have any advice it would help greatly. ![]()

| ![]() If it were me and Max didn't seem better in the morning, I would bring him to the vet.

![]() Canned pumpkin or fresh or frozen green beans help with constipation. He deff should be seen by a vet though. I have found that often this is caused by full anils. Sometimes the dog will not poop because of the pain from the anils and when the stool is not released the longer it stays in the body, the body absorbs the moisture from the stool so it's very hard for them to push it out. Also when they are backed up from constipation they will often vomit because the food cannot pass through due to the blockage from the stool.

![]() I agree, take him to the vet and have his anal glands checked. At this point, I would not try to express the glands myself. If done incorrectly, or not taken care of, the glands can rupture and cause infection. The vet can rule out other problems too. Hope Maxbears is better soon.

![]() I brought little max to the vet today and he told me that he's not really sure what could have happened but he seemed fine at the moment. We were told to watch him carefully through the night and if he had a hard time releasing his stool again to take a sample of what we could get and bring him back in the morning (unless it seemed more serious with vomiting again then to instead bring him to the ER just in case). He was eating fine at all of his meals so far but definitely seems more tired. Now to wait and observe. Thanks for all the responses and help. Ill be posting his xmas pics we took last week in the picture forum on a brighter note. :]]
