| ![]() You have to protect her from the other dogs.... sometimes they may attack if they sense that something is wrong with her. Anyway to separate them till you know what's going on? Could be why she's acting aggressive... she may be expecting an attack... Even if you have a kennel/crate to put her in.... as long as it doesn't upset her...

| ![]() Ok, will do. I think the other dogs know too, that something is wrong. I have a room to block them off in. Keeping Raindrop close to me.

| ![]() Does Raindrop have any allergies, or has she ever had a vaccine reaction?

| ![]() My Tinkerbell is the boss around here, but one day she must have stepped on something or twisted a toe, and she let out a yipe... my other three were on her like white on rice. They didn't attack her, but they were in her face. I think if she would have continued to whine or fall down I would have had a situation on my hands... it really scared me a bit to see them react that way.

| ![]() No allergies that I know of, and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Yes, the other dogs got in her face. Any other time she is a pretty good little girl. And the others are good too. Fighting over a toy, but not biting fighting. Playing, fighting, if that makes sense. Candy, my dachshund is the oldest. Will be 13yrs. in a couple of months. Altho she is spayed, and never had puppies, she thinks she is the mama of the bunch.

| ![]() Well, I guess I am going to try and lay down. She is resting, gums still pink, and I have the ER number if I need it in the night. Thank You so much for all that you have done. I really appreciate you being here for me. I noticed it was getting cold here. It's 40 degrees, then I looked and saw you are from up north. You have got to be colder that I am here in Florida. Stay warm. Darlene and Raindrop

| ![]() Just thinking here: I noticed a few of the ERVets were 24 hr facilities. I used to work at one here in Baltimore. (Vet tech) They're good because you don't have to transport a sick animal back and forth when they need 24 hour care, and where I worked they had quite a few specialists they could call on to come to the hospital to access a patient... Is the one near you a 24 hour place? If it is... it may be worthwhile to take Raindrop in there now, unless she's improved any... in many instances it's better to start treatment (relieve the pressure on the brain) as quickly as possible... that is assuming that is what she has.... (big assumption as I am not a Vet and cannot diagnose) Whoever you talk to you may have to mention GME, NME, Chiari, and Syringomyelia as these are not commonly looked for or diagnosed (more frequently diagnosed as of late) I think many times a stroke or brain tumor is suspected and many owners don't persue further diagnostics and treatment (lack of info). Yorkies rarely get brain tumors... There is a Vet, Dr Sisson, in Boston, MA who has specialized in treating GME and has a current protocol that has resulted in total remission in many dogs after one year of treatment with steroids (high doses) and (I think) in combination with chemotheraputic agents. He does phone consultations for those too far away and will work along with your vet or neurologist... And there is the chance that I am way off on this... I hope I am... but I can't not make a connection with those symptoms... Many vets jump to Liver Shunt bc it's a common thing in Yorkies... except the symptoms are different than you get with Hydrocephalus... I would hold off on her next dose of Diazepam until you discuss it with a vet though, regardless of who you choose to see (ER Vet or Regular Vet). You could call the ER Vet tonight and see what they would recommend... Just thinking.... I stay up most nights anyway...

| ![]() Normally dogs with Vestibular Syndrome will walk like they are drunk, not in circles. Also they have rapid eye movement, they eyes move back & forth rapidly. If she's not doing these things then it's probably not Vestibular Syndrome. If it's Vestibular Syndrome you can give dramamine, talk to your vet about dosage. Dogs with Vestibular usually want to try to eat but often vomit after from motion sickness, thus the Dramamine . However this does not sound like Vestibular Syndrome in my opinion, but GME or Chiari. If this were my dog I would Check for LS , then take her to see a Neurologist ASAP. |

| ![]() Raindrop seems to be doing better, but not up to par yet. Her head is straighter this morning, and she is standing looking at me. I never did see the rapid eye movement. Doc did check for that. I am feeling Very hopeful. I am still worried, but feel alot better than yesterday. Poor girl was a mess yesterday. She makes a "bigger" circle today, but is also walking straighter. She slept right beside me, and then I put her on my chest. I was afraid I would sleep, and not hear her if she needed me. She ate good this morning, the A/D the doc gave me. She will not leave my sight today. I have a little purse I take her in. She loves it. Makes her feel very special. I cannot thank you enough for all the support everyone gave me. Kathy, thank you for hanging in with me last night. I think Raindrop has a way to go, but I think she can do it. With all the prayers she is getting, I am sure God will protect her. love, Darlene and Raindrop ![]()

| ![]() Raindrop vomited this afternoon. And that little tongue is sticking out. One minute she seems better, and the next minute, she seems worse. Keeping her close to me, and warm. It's cold out today. She did urinate today, alot. No blood or anything in it. ![]()
